"Re: Mike W ; Arlene " A Jew inwardly" ( Figurative or Literal)"

I enjoyed your posts on whether we are considered Jews inwardly in The Lord's eyes in this age of grace.

A lot to consider. I personally believe that The Lord considers one to be " accepted" as a "Jew" in type, if He is able to give praise of the same. As Arlene pointed out in this verse in Romans, if we have praise of The Lord, and our heart is right, then we must presume we are considered spiritually circumcised " Jews" of an accepted type. Too much right division can make us callous to letting the word wash us and let the light of the word expose us,  making us "honest" Christians, allowing the transforming power of The Spirit to fulfill His purpose.

Romans 9:29..."But he is NOT a Jew, which is one outwardly; neither is that circumcision, which is outward in the flesh.  (vs 30)...But he is a JEW, which is one inwardly; and circumcision is that of the heart, in the spirit, and not in the letter;  which praise is not of men, but of God."

Also, an Old testament unsaved Jew earned the praise of God, yet without the atonement of the cross, under the Law.

John 1: 47
Jesus saw Nathanael coming to Him, and saith of him, " Behold an Israelite indeed, in whom is no guile ! "

Guile :  Dubious, deceptive, insidious, trickery, cunning

Of course since there is now neither " Jew nor Gentile ", the dispensation of grace for NOW makes being a Jew redundant . However, for the Spirit to work in us to remove all delusion and guile, we cannot hide behind our lowly Gentile self image, and explain it away every time by saying to ourselves, " I'm not a Jew" , so that's " Not for me".
