"RE: Chance: RapCon 1 level"

Chance,
Your letter, the 23rd of September - Pastor Charles Lawson, was extremely interesting.
I've enjoyed listening to many messages by Pastor Lawson, from time to time.
Yes, the aftermath, when there were dates hoped for, have been hard, over the years.
One tragedy is what you pointed out, which resulted from the Millerite Great Disappointment.
When so many people experience such a dramatic let down to what they were convinced was going to happen, there seems to follow great discouragement.
Did many of the people who cried Hosannah, the day that Jesus rode into Jerusalem, expect Jesus to immediately set up the kingdom and overthrow the Romans?
And when it didn't happen, were they greatly discouraged, to where some of them may have later been amongst those crying, "crucify him"?
After a few hundred years, were there a number of discouraged Christians, who went from chiliasts (millennialists) to a-millennialists, when Jesus hadn't returned yet?
So, now, when so many are looking for the blessed hope to happen in a few days, if it doesn't happen in a few days, will there be great discouragement?
Will some give up believing that there will even be a catching away?
I heard someone, a few days ago, talk about what is building up right now.
The smallest group of people claim that the LORD told them specifically the day that Jesus catches us away.
The next group, slightly larger, claim that during a NDE, they have come to know the day that Jesus catches us away.
The next, larger, group, claim that they have discovered from the scriptures, the day that Jesus catches us away.
The next group, larger still, are those who are convinced that Jesus must catch us away on the feast of trumpets, but hope that this year would be the year.
The next group, even larger, claim that they have been recently having dreams about Jesus catching us away, but not having the date in the dream.
The largest group are the Christians that have heard and seen all the above, and are simply super excited about the catching away being real, real soon.
The speaker said that he refers to this as "RapCon 1" level.
There is no doubt that there are so many excited Christians, right now, excited about the blessed hope.
