The answers are really quite simple:

1)  The "sons of God" are "heirs to salvation" due to being of the sin-infected blood
line of Adam and Eve and, therefore, were not fallen angels as fallen angels
cannot be saved.  Nowhere in scripture does it say Jesus came to die for the
fallen angels.  Instead, we have Jude 1:6 [ In Contextand 2 Peter 2:4
[ In Context ] which indicates they are locked up until Judgment Day which is at
the end of the world - a long ways away.  Good angels don't need saving and
     bad ones can't be saved.

2)  Also, God never called angels His "son(s)" [ In Context ] and never will.

3)  A more accepted idea is that the "sons of God" who came down and mated with
human women were the righteous sons of Adam who lived on a mountain.  Adam
told them never to go down into the valley below where unrighteous Cain lived
with his descendants.  After Adam died they disobeyed and went down the
mountain, being lured by the music and beautiful women.  They ended up inter-
marrying with them, thus their wives gave birth to "sons of reknown," possibly
due to being known as the descendants of the last of Adam's seed.  This story is
borne out in a book in the Library of Congress entitled "The Book of Adam & Eve."

4)  The story of the men of the city of Sodom coming to Lot and asking for the
two angels, etc. is not in the original Mazoretic text of the Pentateuch.  Neither
is the story of Lot offering up his two daughters.  Instead, Lot's daughters were
being hospitable to strangers outside the city and came in late one evening as
a result which is against the city's laws.  They had to be in by a certain time
before the guards closed the gates for security purposes.  As a result of coming
in late, they were threatened by a guard who said they would be tried in court
the next day for breaking the law.  So Lot fled with his wife and two daughters
     during the night.

The story about the men of the city wanting the two angels was made up by a
Catholic priest named Damian when Rome was in control of the scriptures.  He
did it to create a new sin for which King James would have to pay penance since
he was gay.  King James would have had to pay a larger amount than others
because of his income level; i.e., $5K to $50K.  The monies gained from penances
were used to build the cathedrals in Rome.  However, King James could read
Hebrew/Greek and knew the story made up by Damian wasn't in the original
manuscripts, so he refused to authorize the version of the Bible attributed to him.
Consequently, it wasn't printed until after he died.

5)  The real sin of Sodom can be found here:  Ezekiel 16:48-50.
Note, this occurred before the laws of Moses had been given to mankind by
God.  Hospitality was considered very important.  Even Abraham found favor
with God by showing hospitality to the Trinity that visited him one day.
