Fay,You brought up a very interesting question:
Did the women in Genesis 6 willfully have children by the sons of God (the angels which kept not their first estate)?Or did those sons of God force themselves upon those women?You had mentioned:
when the pregnancy is the result of violent rape. For examplethe Genesis era women who had been raped by a fallen angel
I had never considered that possibility that they were forced.I had been taught, and later, considered on my own, that the women were willing partners:
Genesis 6:1 And it came to pass, when men began to multiply on the face of the earth, and daughters were born unto them,
2 That the sons of God saw the daughters of men that they were fair; and they took them wives of all which they chose.
It says that the sons of God took them wives of all which they chose.Why would the sons of God marry them, if they merely wanted to rape them?
There are definitely scriptures about rape of women, but they are not in the context of these women being wives of the rapists:
Deuteronomy 22:25 But if a man find a betrothed damsel in the field, and the man force her, and lie with her: then the man only that lay with her shall die:
Judges 20:5 And the men of Gibeah rose against me, and beset the house round about upon me by night, and thought to have slain me: and my concubine have they forced, that she is dead.
II Samuel 13:12 And she answered him, Nay, my brother, do not force me; for no such thing ought to be done in Israel: do not thou this folly.
14 Howbeit he would not hearken unto her voice: but, being stronger than she, forced her, and lay with her.
Lamentations 5:11 They ravished the women in Zion, and the maids in the cities of Judah.
Zechariah 14:2a For I will gather all nations against Jerusalem to battle; and the city shall be taken, and the houses rifled, and the women ravished;
I had always considered that when those sons of God chose those women for their wives, that the women were horrified, or against the prospect.Rather, I had considered that those angels were exceedingly attractive and handsome, more than the stars on the Bachelor.I don't think that the devil transforms into a hideous, ugly angel, but an angel of light:
II Corinthians 11:14 And no marvel; for Satan himself is transformed into an angel of light.
And when the two angels came to Sodom, the men of the city, not knowing that they were angels, wanted to lie with them (know them).They were extremely attracted to the two angels, and they wanted to know them so badly, that they still tried to get to them even after they were blinded:
Genesis 19:1 And there came two angels to Sodom at even; and Lot sat in the gate of Sodom: and Lot seeing them rose up to meet them; and he bowed himself with his face toward the ground;
4 But before they lay down, the men of the city, even the men of Sodom, compassed the house round, both old and young, all the people from every quarter:
5 And they called unto Lot, and said unto him, Where are the men which came in to thee this night? bring them out unto us, that we may know them.
11 And they smote the men that were at the door of the house with blindness, both small and great: so that they wearied themselves to find the door.
However, these are my thoughts about what I think that the scriptures are saying.I won't be dogmatic, and say to you that it must be so.
