Re: Barry Amundsen (29 Sep 2012) "Ted Porter and Shepherds and Dances With Wolves"Very insightful piece. To answer your question regarding my choice of "shepherd" and "Dances with Wolves". Actually, I just picked the first two names that popped into my head. At the time I didn't think the two names were related at all. But after reading your post, well obviously they are. Shepherds guard the sheep against wolves. I loved the analogy of how in the world there is emnity against God and good can be defined as bad and bad as good. Where before, sheep were being protected from the wolves by the good Shepherd Jesus, but in the world we end up dancing with the wolves without knowing it and end up getting devoured. You said it well. This Bible verse is a fitting ending to this post for not only you and John, but for everyone who frequents Five Doves.Behold, I send you forth as sheep in the midst of wolves: be ye therefore wise as serpents, and harmless as doves. Matthew 10:16Shalom!
