Sir Roger Penrose, who won the Nobel Prize for Physics at a grand old age, cuts through the rubbish. AI will never be 'conscious'. Which means it cannot make it's own decisions. We are being led to believe that AI could be the personification of the anti-Christ. Thereby handing a machine incredible power over mankind. This is gross hyperbole - meant to frighten the living daylights out of all of us. AI is only as destructive as it's programmer (a human being with consciousness) makes it. On it's own - AI is just another machine. I mean, really - if we wanted to kill off the evil AI, we could just take a hammer to it. Or simply unplug it from the power source. It is NOT conscious. Much like self-driving EV's - they are only as good as they are programmed to be. And even then, they can go spectacularly awry. One rusty cog and they are kaput! Also - machines cannot continue to operate without a power source. EV batteries are notorious for breaking into flames at inopportune moments!! No - it's not AI that's the danger - it's the conscious human beings that programme it, who are the danger.
Perhaps the media engendered fear of the power of AI is their pre-planned excuse for stuffing up the world? "It wasn't us - it was AI", they will cry. Counting on the ignorance of an under educated world populace.

I HIGHLY recommend exploring the YT musings of Sir Roger Penrose. He is a brilliant man and he explains things in layman's terms. He also quotes from other brilliant physicists. My mind has truly been opened to the world of physics by this incredibly, God gifted, brilliant (and conscious) human being. He is amazing.
