""Buzzing wings""

Doves,

A few days ago I posted my thoughts on Isaiah 18 and the countries that I believed were involved in that chapter. Those being Egypt and Ethiopia. In my post  http://www.fivedoves.com/letters/june2013/johnb64-2.htm   I attached a recent article to back up my beliefs that Egypt and Ethiopia will verbally or maybe even physically battle over the water rights of the Nile River.

I came across another article yesterday that suggests that it may indeed become physical when push comes to shove. Ethiopia a Christian country with a large segment of Jews is no military match for Egypt a predominately Muslim country that has been supplied for decades with the best military hardware by the U.S.A.

It's going to be interesting in the near future to see what happens with this scenario. The lifeblood of Egypt the Nile River is drying up and Egypt can't afford to loose one drop of this precious water that comes from hundreds of miles away to the south in Sudan and Ethiopia. Ethiopia is in the process of diverting one of the tributaries of the Nile to build a large hydro-electric project which would cause the Nile to dry up even more. This will be intolerable to the Egyptians and I believe lead to a diplomatic and then military situation.

Here's the latest article from the BBC concerning the situation   http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-africa-22771563

Also when I wrote my post I surmised that verse 1 of Isaiah 18......."Woe to the land shadowed with buzzing wings"...... had to do with the locust that regularly invade Egypt but I now believe that in the course of the Nile drying up even farther that all forms of life will perish for lack of water and the "buzzing wings" are the flies that come to feed on the carcasses....... fulfilling verse 1.

What's happening now between Egypt and Ethiopia I believe is fulfilling Isaiah 18 but the drying up of the Nile will become much much worse. How do I know this?  Because God tells us so in the very next chapter of Isaiah where He dedicates the whole chapter to the trials and tribulations of Egypt in a time period which certainly appears to be now.

God says concerning this in Isaiah 19.........

5  The waters will fail from the sea,
And the river will be wasted and dried up.
6  The rivers will turn foul:
The brooks of defense will be emptied and dried up;
The reeds and rushes will wither,
7  The papyrus reeds by the River,by the mouth of the River,
And everything sown by the River,
Will wither, be driven away, and be no more.
8  The fisherman also will mourn;
All those will lament that cast hooks in the River,
And they will languish who spread nets on the waters.
9  Moreover those who work in fine flax
And those who weave fine fabric will be ashamed;
10  And its foundations will be broken.
All who make wages will be troubled of soul.

Does this sound to you like a recipe for "buzzing wings"?  Wow

I want you to take notice of verse 10......"And its foundations will be broken"......
I believe that "its foundations" refers to the Nile River foundations.

For those of you who don't know, the Nile River is regulated by a huge dam (the Aswan Dam) built by the Russians in southern Egypt. If that dam was destroyed the Nile would almost completely dry up within days....and so would Egypt. Israel and all military strategists know this. So, if the Muslim brotherhood who control Egypt were to attack Israel in concert with the other Muslim countries that surround her I believe that Israel would destroy the Aswan Dam. The Nile would be dried up and more than half of Egypt would be in the dark due to the lack of electricity this huge dam and it's hydro-electric facilities generate.

The dam is so large that a tactical nuke or at minimum a huge "bunker buster" bomb would be needed to destroy the "foundations" of this dam and river.

This destruction of the dam would certainly fulfill the bible verses I mentioned above and also this verse.......
17  And the land of Judah will be a terror to Egypt; everyone who makes mention of it will be afraid in himself; because of the counsel of the Lord of hosts which he has determined against it.

Reading all of Isaiah 19 leaves a very grim picture of what the Lord of hosts has planned for the enemies of Israel.....in this case Egypt.

Blessings.......John B
