"Romans 10:4 Amplified"

Hello, John and Doves,

Romans 10:4 Amplified Bible (AMP)

For Christ is the end of the Law [the limit at which it ceases to be, for the Law leads up to Him Who is the fulfillment of its types, and in Him the purpose which it was designed to accomplish is fulfilled. That is, the purpose of the Law is fulfilled in Him] as the means of righteousness (right relationship to God) for everyone who trusts in and adheres to and relies on Him.

As such, Jesus continues to be the fulfillment of all the promises of the Tanakh [Torah, Prophets, and Writings].  Since all of the LORD’s feasts must personally be fulfilled by Yehoshua Himself, we look to Shavuot [The Feast of Weeks = Pentecost (the fiftieth day, which follows the 49 days of the Omer)].

To recap:

Passover = His atoning death on the Cross.

Unleavened Bread = Our sins are buried, and we are reckoned by faith as                               righteousness (Galatians 3:6, James 2:23, Romans 4)

First Fruits = His resurrection is the guarantee of the whole winter crop.

Pentecost = marking the harvest of the winter-planted wheat.  This refers to the

Harvest of 3000 souls after the winter of 400 years with no nevi’im

until John the Baptist came onto the scene.  There may or may not be

a future fulfillment on that day.

          Winter Wheat

Winter wheat is used to bake bread and rolls because of its good milling and making properties, and even a home gardener can produce enough to make a few batches of baked goods. It is planted in the fall, usually between October and December, and grows over the winter to be harvested in the spring or early summer. Typically it takes about seven to eight months to reach maturity and it creates pretty golden contrast in spring gardens.

It is written,

          The Festival of Weeks

15‘From the day after the Sabbath, the day you brought the sheaf of the wave offering, count off seven full weeks. 16Count off fifty days up to the day after the seventh Sabbath, and then present an offering of new grain to the Lord. 17From wherever you live, bring two loaves made of two-tenths of an ephah of the finest flour, baked with yeast, as a wave offering of firstfruits to the Lord. 18Present with this bread seven male lambs, each a year old and without defect, one young bull and two rams. They will be a burnt offering to the Lord, together with their grain offerings and drink offerings—a food offering, an aroma pleasing to the Lord. 19Then sacrifice one male goat for a sin offeringc

and two lambs, each a year old, for a fellowship offering. 20The priest is to wave the two lambs before the Lord as a wave offering, together with the bread of the firstfruits. They are a sacred offering to the Lord for the priest. 21On that same day you are to proclaim a sacred assembly and do no regular work. This is to be a lasting ordinance for the generations to come, wherever you live.

22‘When you reap the harvest of your land, do not reap to the very edges of your field or gather the gleanings of your harvest. Leave them for the poor and for the foreigner residing among you. I am the Lord your God.’

Leviticus 23:15-22  NIV

On the other hand, the Feast of Trumpets, or Yom Teruah has been highlighted by God already.

The Festival of Trumpets

23The Lord said to Moses, 24“Say to the Israelites: ‘On the first day of the seventh month you are to have a day of sabbath rest, a sacred assembly commemorated with trumpet blasts. 25Do no regular work, but present a food offering to the Lord.’

Leviticus 23:15-25  NIV

To help you decide, consider that it is written,

15“After you have purified the Levites and presented them as a wave offering, they are to come to do their work at the tent of meeting. 16They are the Israelites who are to be given wholly to me. I have taken them as my own in place of the firstborn, the first male offspring from every Israelite woman. 17Every firstborn male in Israel, whether human or animal, is mine. When I struck down all the firstborn in Egypt, I set them apart for myself. 18And I have taken the Levites in place of all the firstborn sons in Israel. 19From among all the Israelites, I have given the Levites as gifts to Aaron and his sons to do the work at the tent of meeting on behalf of the Israelites and to make atonement for them so that no plague will strike the Israelites when they go near the sanctuary.”

Numbers 8:15-19  NIV

Now consider what Jesus said:

15“The day is coming when you will see what Daniel the prophet spoke about—the sacrilegious object that causes desecrationd standing in the Holy Place.” (Reader, pay attention!) 16“Then those in Judea must flee to the hills. 17A person out on the deck of a roof must not go down into the house to pack. 18A person out in the field must not return even to get a coat. 19How terrible it will be for pregnant women and for nursing mothers in those days. 20And pray that your flight will not be in winter or on the Sabbath. 21For there will be greater anguish than at any time since the world began. And it will never be so great again. 22In fact, unless that time of calamity is shortened, not a single person will survive. But it will be shortened for the sake of God’s chosen ones.

23“Then if anyone tells you, ‘Look, here is the Messiah,’ or ‘There he is,’ don’t believe it. 24For false messiahs and false prophets will rise up and perform great signs and wonders so as to deceive, if possible, even God’s chosen ones. 25See, I have warned you about this ahead of time.

Matthew 24:15-25  NLT

So, I think as we look to each special day, we should also be ready for Yeshua HaMashiach to return for His bride on any day.

It is written,

The Coming of the Son of Man

24“But in those days, after that tribulation, the sun will be darkened, and the moon will not give its light, 25and the stars will be falling from heaven, and the powers in the heavens will be shaken. 26And then they will see the Son of Man coming in clouds with great power and glory. 27And then he will send out the angels and gather his elect from the four winds, from the ends of the earth to the ends of heaven.

The Lesson of the Fig Tree

28“From the fig tree learn its lesson: as soon as its branch becomes tender and puts out its leaves, you know that summer is near. 29So also, when you see these things taking place, you know that he is near, at the very gates. 30Truly, I say to you, this generation will not pass away until all these things take place. 31Heaven and earth will pass away, but my words will not pass away.

No One Knows That Day or Hour

32“But concerning that day or that hour, no one knows, not even the angels in heaven, nor the Son, but only the Father. 33Be on guard, keep awake.a For you do not know when the time will come. 34It is like a man going on a journey, when he leaves home and puts his servantsb in charge, each with his work, and commands the doorkeeper to stay awake. 35Therefore stay awake—for you do not know when the master of the house will come, in the evening, or at midnight, or when the rooster crows,c or in the morning— 36lest he come suddenly and find you asleep. 37And what I say to you I say to all: Stay awake.”

Mark 13:24-37  ESV
