Man from the East - Obama? (Update)

Calling a ravenous bird from the East - the man (Cyrus) who executes my

counsel from a far country (Isaiah 46: 11 Amplified)

A previous letter (8 February 2012 – link above)  looked at whether there is an end-time fulfilment of Isaiah 46:11: calling a ravenous bird from the East (link above).  Could this be Obama - the President from (an upbringing in) Hawaii?  As I noted in the previous letter, whether the man from the East is a forerunner of the Antichrist, or the beast himself, is for me an unanswered question (I tend to view Europe/Middle East  as the epicentre of the Antichrist).  The following summary of the man from the East prophecy (included in the February letter) highlights some interesting aspects:

·         Obama from Hawaii qualifies as from the East (longitude)

·         Close to the Jerusalem latitude

·         Ravenous bird: Obama is the first African American President

·         Obama is the 44th President (Isaiah 44) prophesies about construction in Judah, Jerusalem and  laying the foundation for the temple

·         The super bowl was the 46th (Isaiah 46 speaks of the man from the East) - New York Giants, from the East, won with an Eli as the most valued player)

·         The man who executes God’s counsel from a far country - could also refer to the United Nations with its current headquarters in New York.

·         The following chapter (Isaiah 47) is addressed to the virgin daughter of Babylon, and many consider this to prophesy of judgment on the United States.

·         Only since 1959, when Hawaii became part of the United States, could this man from the East prophecy be fulfilled.

The Sign - Drought/drying up of rivers and streams in the United States?

Who says to the deep, Be dry, and I will dry up your rivers (Isaiah 44:27)

So what has changed in six months?  Two things are noteworthy.  First, the drought in the United States has become more widespread and is now probably the worst drought in more than 50 years!  The wording of the second part of Isaiah 44:27 (I will dry up your rivers) is clearer than the reference to Who says to the deep, Be dry.  This could be a reference to Cyrus blocking and drying up the Euphrates to gain access to Babylon, but there may be an end-time link.  Strong’s concordance suggests that the root word is to sink, an abyss of the sea.  Could there be an earth-changing event that would dry up or limit the water sources of some rivers?

The second aspect that is noteworthy is the momentum towards dividing Israel and recognition of a separate Palestinian State (Joel 3:2 warns of a judgment of nations for the treatment of Jews/Israelites and because they HAVE divided My land).  As President of the United States, possibly extending through the next election, Obama would be a key player in Israel surrendering land.  So, while the Man from the East (Obama?) may be used for God’s purposes (bringing nations to account for their treatment of Israel and its people) the severe drought would indicate God’s displeasure on his actions and consequent judgment on his country (the United States).

As a final note, it is interesting that it is only in recent decades that meteorologists have discovered and measured the impact of ocean currents and temperatures on weather and as the cause of droughts and flooding rains.  Yet here in Isaiah 44:27 we see this link between the abyss of the sea and weather.  These events are usually referred to as El Nino (boy child/Christ child) or La Nina (girl child).  Australia faced a period of prolonged drought and witnessed the drying up of rivers, so we understand the suffering droughts cause, and will pray for rain that will refresh the parched land in the United States.

Maranatha!  Denis.
