"Gino:  "RE: Chance: 04.10.26: dual fulfillment upon Jerusalem" Letter"

Hello Gino, John and Doves,

RE: Chance: 04.10.26: dual fulfillment upon Jerusalem

Sure, the conditions could change over time in Jerusalem for the two witnesses.  You make a good analogy to Jesus' 'Triumphal Entry' and His trial.  And it is interesting Jerusalem is referred to as the 'holy city' when the Gentiles take over and then spiritually it is referred to as "Sodom and Egypt" when the two witnesses are killed.  Physical city vs spiritual city?

I see their arrival like they are portrayed in the "Left Behind" movies - if I'm remembering correctly. Not liked at all.  But that may not be the case.

Jerusalem is controlled by the Gentiles - not Jews at that time.  "and they will tread the holy city underfoot for forty-two months."  Revelation 11:2

Will Jewish people in Jerusalem 'recognize' these two prophets?  'Moses, Elijah' or ?  I believe, yes - some?  The Gentiles probably won't.

I believe that the two witnesses are vilified from the get go.  Maybe more by the Gentiles?  They have the power to destroy anyone who tries to harm them with fire from their mouths; they can hold back the rain, turn water to blood, bring any kind of plagues upon the people...don't think they will be well liked.  As they have all these powers to punish people.  "..these two prophets tormented those who dwell on the earth."  Revelation 11:10  And when they are killed - people will celebrate.

There will be some that listen ...as the two witnesses are there to prophesy.   After they rise from the dead and ascend to heaven in a cloud - there is a huge earthquake.  7,000 people perish. "..and the rest were afraid and gave glory to the God of heaven."  Revelation 11:13  I don't know how many people will be left after the 7,000 die...but they turn to God.  And it doesn't say if these that turn to God are Jews, Gentiles or just Jews??

Are the two witnesses Moses and Elijah?  Or maybe Zechariah and Haggai? or ?  These two are prophets of the Old Testament -- these were prophets to the Jewish people.  And these two prophets from history are there for the Jewish people again.  As this 'end of the 70th Week' is for Daniel's people (the Jews) and his holy city (Jerusalem).

My thoughts on this for now...

Very thought provoking questions, Gino.

Maranatha~
