"RE: Chance: 04.10.26: dual fulfillment upon Jerusalem"

Chance,
Very good analysis.
I completely agree with the dual fulfillment upon Jerusalem.
Jerusalem will again be surrounded by armies, before the second advent of Jesus.

I had a question for you: in Revelation 11, the city appears to be referred to by two different terms.
One; the line before the the two witnesses are first mentioned, is the term, "holy city":

Revelation 11:2 But the court which is without the temple leave out, and measure it not; for it is given unto the Gentiles: and the holy city shall they tread under foot forty and two months.

3 And I will give power unto my two witnesses, and they shall prophesy a thousand two hundred and threescore days, clothed in sackcloth.

Two; when the two witnesses are killed by the beast, it is referred to spiritually, as "Sodom" and "Egypt":

Revelation 11:8 And their dead bodies shall lie in the street of the great city, which spiritually is called Sodom and Egypt, where also our Lord was crucified.

Is that because the city's condition changed during the time of the ministry of the two witnesses, whom they rejected, and rejoiced over their death?
Which may be a little similar to the city changing from when Jesus rode-in, until they cried before Pilate to have him crucified?

Or is there maybe another explanation?
