Hello Donna Danna,
My reply to Fay was just
to acknowledge her thinking outside the box concerning the
identify of Mystery Babylon. Mystery Babylon is
indeed, a mystery! A mystery is something that is
secret or hidden. Fay was thinking about Iran.
It's not that far-fetched compared to some other's
thinking -
I have seen Mystery
Babylon identified as the Vatican, an evil world system,
the cities of Rome, Jerusalem, NYC, and 'the world empire
of false religion', and even 'the global merchant
trade'. These aren't thoughts of just anyone - these
are based on studies by known eschatology teachers.
And they are aware of 'the great city' description in The
Revelation.
Here's an example:
Gary Stearman is full aware that Mystery Babylon is
referred to as a 'great city' - yet - he's really thinking
outside the box:

Mystery Babylon is the
female deity in Babylon in the Old Testament -
Ishtar. She sits on many waters - the Seven
Seas. The Phoenicians sailed the Seven Seas and the
Oceans. A huge statue of the woman riding the beast
is front of the European Union Bldg in Brussels - her name
is Europa. (She was involved with Zeus) Mystery
Babylon is a religion that goes back to Nimrod. It's
a monetary system and one of a false spirit. The Law of
the Sea is a law unto itself - this is the law of Mystery
Babylon. John saw a beast rise out of the sea. The
sea coasts are the areas of control with one area becoming
dominant over others - that's the woman. She goes back to
King Solomon and King Hiram king of Tyre - leader of the
esoteric world. They made an agreement that brought
about the Babylonian religion and the Law of the Sea. From
this rose Mystery Babylon. Tarshish is the code word
for global merchant traffic. He mentioned the huge
coastal shipping area along our Eastern coast.
That's the biggest in the world.

Gary has a ton of
information and research put into this topic. I
didn't listen to the whole thing. But there is a lot
there to glean. Maybe this is the connection to "And
the merchants of the earth shall weep and mourn over her,
for no man buyeth their merchandise any more." And
"The merchants of these things who became rich by her,
will stand at a distance for fear of her torment, weeping
and wailing..and every shipmaster and all the
company of ships and sailors and as many as trade by
sea, stood afar off...Alas, alas, that great
city, wherein were made rich all that had ships
in the sea by reason of her costliness for in
one hour is she made desolate." Rev 18
Gary could definitely be
on to something here. I didn't finish the videos but
maybe the coming destruction/burning with fire is that
section of our east coast - he mentioned Boston in that
coastal section.
As for a 'city', I and
others have suggested NYC in several letters. NYC
doesn't totally fit. D.C. doesn't totally fit. I
haven't seen any U.S. city totally fit.
I haven't seen
any 'city' totally fit this mystery.
It was in this letter that
John added his comment about 'needing to fine-tune,
discard or rethink our theology'.
Maranatha!
