Dear friends:

I am impressed to share this with you today....

Many believers throughout the world are seeing a very near-term rapture.  Some even believe it will be this month, April 2011.  Hello!  Clang, clang!  Bugle sound!

Some arrive at this month by a diligent study of the Scriptures and tracking of the signs, and some by claimed personal revelation.  Read about the little 9-year-old boy's claimed revelation at http://www.fivedoves.com/letters/apr2011/amanda413-1.htm .

Such sayings by children get my attention because they are so innocent and their minds are not so cluttered with distorted theology as often are adults.  But I need to emphasize that we have had such children's claimed revelations in the past that did not pan out true, so don't sell the farm on that alone.  Seek the Lord for your own revelation.

I cannot say for sure about this month, but I also believe it is very soon.  This makes Peter's admonition to us all the more relevant and urgent:

"Be even more diligent to make your call and election sure, for if you do these things you will never stumble; for so an entrance will be supplied to you abundantly into the everlasting kingdom of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ" (2 Peter 1:10-11, NKJV).

How do we do that?  In the same passage Peter tells us how:

"For this very reason, giving all diligence, add to your faith virtue, to virtue knowledge, to knowledge self-control, to self-control perseverance, to perseverance godliness, to godliness brotherly kindness, and to brotherly kindness love. For if these things are yours and abound, you will be neither barren nor unfruitful in the knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ. For he who lacks these things is shortsighted, even to blindness, and has forgotten that he was cleansed from his old sins" (vs 5-9).

I pray that "an entrance will be supplied to you abundantly into the everlasting kingdom of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ."
