The cave they were in would be the manger. The woman realizes who Jesus is, offers to be a servant to the family, and thinks to preserve flesh that was removed from Jesus by putting it in the oil. Mary annoints/blesses her 8-day old baby on the day he would have been named and circumcised in the Jewish culture. Water from his bath, clothes he wore, the oil in the box were said to have had healing power. Years later, the woman anoints Jesus with the perfume oil before he goes to the cross. Whether it is accurate or not, it is a beautiful loving concept of human interaction with Jesus. What doesn't make sense to you Frank. Joan Sent from my iPad
