"Apocrypha alabaster box anointing Christ oddity"

http://www.fivedoves.com/letters/june2013/joan620.htm

With the recent mention of the Apocrypha I remember Joan posting this about the alabaster box and the birth of Jesus

I thought it rather odd
I have read some of the Apocrypha but this might be one example of why it is not included today
I can't copy and paste it so you have to go to the link

The link goes to this page headed by the title
1 INFANCY

Then go to the right column and Chapter 2

The child [Christ] was circumcised in the cave.
and the old woman preserving his foreskin or naval string in a box of spikenard.
Mary afterwards anoints Christ with it.

Doesn't that sound a bit odd?
look it up yourself
If this link doesn't work go to Joan's post above
