Although you did not articulate this in your post I think you might ascribe the 10 nations to the Middle Eastern portion of the Eastern Roman Empire, mainly the Arab nations. Does this study reflect your thinking? http://chn-net.com/school/bonus/ten_kings_report.html

I have no problem with other breakdowns of the ten kings besides the planetary break-down. I think that the 10 toes of scripture is so rich in layers of meaning that multiple interpretations have validity.
