I apologize for taking so long to get back to you. I've been out of town, away from the computer.
You asked about the significance of the number 73, as I had
noted its commonality between the orbital period of Earth, Venus and
their conjunction period:
"The common value between 584 and 365 (year) is 73. Whereas 73 x 5 is 365, 73
x 8 is 584. Conversely, there are five (5) 584 day conjunctions
(inferior OR superior) in eight (8) 365 day earth years. The sum of
584 + 365 is 949 which is of course 13 x 73. Venus orbits 13 times to earth's 8 and it passes earth 5 times (every 584 days during those eight years."
73 has
some significance in Biblical gematria as it is the Hebrew value of
words and phrases like: wisdom; I am the Almighty God; thy Creator; man
of God; etc. as found at this Biblewheel page - http://www.biblewheel.com/gr/gr_73.asp.
It is also
the triangular root of 2701, which is also the product of it times
its reverse (73 x 37 = 2701). 2701 is the Hebrew gematria sum of the
first verse and statement in the Bible: In the beginning God created the Heaven and the Earth = 2701 = 73 x 37.
2701 also is the Greek gematria of "Worthy is the Lamb that was slain" (Rev 5:12).
So this 73 value is woven into God's Word and Creation.
As for the date
73 AD: The Temple was destroyed in 70 AD, but that war ended in 73 AD
'with a flood' (Daniel 9:26) by the shore of the Dead Sea at Masada.
The Diaspora (Ezekiel's dead bones) the spreading of God's chosen into
the world was begun.
The middle or
half value of the three values in the Daniel 12 vision (1260, 1290
& 1335) is 1942.5. 1942.5 years plus 70 AD (Temple destruction) is
2012.5. 1942.5 years plus 73 AD is 2015.
As for Jesus birth,
I believe that He was born in 6 BC, a few years before Herod's death on
April 17. It is a date when all the 'morning stars sang together' a
'heavenly host' (Luke 2:13). This date also fulfills Daniel's prophecy
of Messiah being 'cut-off' after 62 weeks (7 years x 62 x 364) from
the decree to rebuild, but before the
63rd heptad (week of years). Messiah being 'cut-off' but not for
Himself' I believe refers to the circumcision required of all Hebrew
newborns at 8 days. The Messiah being the 'contractor' and not the
'contractee' didn't do it for Himself, but to fulfill the Law and the
covenant of Abraham with Himself (the Lord).
Luke 2:21 And when eight days were accomplished for the circumcising (G4059 - Gr. 'Cut off'') of the child, his name was called JESUS, which was so named of the angel before he was conceived in the womb.
Many believe
this 'cut off' is referring to the Crucifixion. However, being 'cut
off' in the context of death implies the opposite of Jesus statement
that he laid down His own life. Being 'cut off' is a permanent
effect. Jesus raised up His own life again. The ONLY time Jesus was
'cut off' was at 8 days.
Strong's H3772
for 'cut off' is used in the Old Testament referring to 'cut a
covenant'. In context the word: 'Zipporah took a sharp stone and cut
off (H3772) the foreskin of her son'.
69 weeks ( 69 x 7 years = 483 years x the 364 day ecclesiastical year) from the decree to restore Jerusalem
until the Baptism of Jesus, the Annointed (Messiah the PRINCE) by GOD's
declaration ' This is MY SON in whom I AM well pleased.'
Others believe
that this prophecy in Daniel 9:25 is referring to Jesus' triumphant
entry into Jerusalem based on the Babylonian year of 360 days from the
latter decree (444BC), placing the Crucifixion in 32. If Jesus was
'about 30' when he began His ministry, lasting 3.5 years and He was on
the Cross at 33-34 years; this places the date of birth AFTER Herod's 4
BC death. I believe Jesus was crucified and rose again at 457 BC plus
69.5 heptad weeks or 486.5 ecclesiastical years of 364 days (divisible
by sabbaths 7's) which places the Cross at 29 AD and His birth in 6
BC. I contend He was Crucified 34 solar years after He was born,
Crucified on His birthday for our sin.
3.5 years after
he began confirming the New Covenant He ended forever the necessity of
the sacrifice and oblations. When He said it is finished on the Cross,
the veil was torn and the Temple broken (Mat 27:51). For the cause of
abominations and corruption in and too the extremities of the Temple:
"[45]
And he went into the temple, and began to cast out them that sold
therein, and them that bought; [46] Saying unto them, It is written, My
house is the house of prayer: but ye have made it a den of thieves." -
Luk 19:45-46 KJV
"[1]
And Jesus went out, and departed from the temple: and his disciples
came to [him] for to shew him the buildings of the temple. [2] And
Jesus said unto them, See ye not all these things? verily I say unto
you, There shall not be left here one stone upon another, that shall not be thrown down." - Mat 24:1-2 KJV
The
temple was made desolate 'even until the consummation' (that is the
END). Temple sacrifice and oblation by the first was superceded by the
second NEW COVENANT confirmed by Jesus. Read Paul's letter to his
fellow Hebrews (excerpts down below). Jesus' sacrifice FOREVER
rendered the Temple sacrifice and oblation system USELESS. In fact, it
will be an abomination if the Hebrews try to restore the daily.
Just after
speaking the true sum of the Widow's mite vs. the gifts of rich men,
Jesus spoke of the future of the temple which the Widow's mites had
helped to finance:
"[5] And as some spake of the temple, how it was adorned with goodly stones and gifts, he said, [6] [As for] these things which ye behold, the days will come, in the which there shall not be left one stone upon another, that shall not be thrown down." - Luk 21:5-6 KJV
"[21] For he hath made him [to be] sin for us, who knew no sin (Jesus); that we might be made the righteousness of God in him." - 2Cr 5:21 KJV
Book of Hebrews on the daily sacrifice and oblations AFTER JESUS (excerpts)
"[27] Who needeth not daily, as those high priests, to offer up sacrifice, first for his own sins, and then for the people's: for this he did once, when he offered up himself." - Hbr 7:27 KJV
"[26] For then must he often have suffered since the foundation of the world: but now once in the end of the world hath he appeared to put away sin by the sacrifice of himself." - Hbr 9:26 KJV
"[1]
For the law having a shadow of good things to come, [and] not the very
image of the things, can never with those sacrifices which they offered
year by year continually make the comers thereunto perfect. [2] For
then would they not have ceased to be offered? because that the
worshippers once purged should have had no more conscience of sins. [3]
But in those [sacrifices there is] a remembrance again [made] of sins
every year. [4] For [it is] not possible that the blood of bulls and of goats should take away sins.
[5] Wherefore when he cometh into the world, he saith, Sacrifice and
offering thou wouldest not, but a body hast thou prepared me: [6] In
burnt offerings and [sacrifices] for sin thou hast had no pleasure. [7]
Then said I, Lo, I come (in the volume of the book it is written of
me,) to do thy will, O God. [8] Above when he said, Sacrifice and offering and
burnt offerings and [offering] for sin thou wouldest not, neither hadst pleasure [therein]; which are offered by the law; [9] Then said he, Lo, I come to do thy will, O God. He taketh away the first that he may establish the second[10] By the which will we are sanctified through the offering of the body of Jesus Christ once [for all]. [11] And every priest standeth daily ministering and offering oftentimes the same sacrifices, which can never take away sins:
[12] But this man, after he had offered one sacrifice for sins for
ever, sat down on the right hand of God; [13] From henceforth expecting
till his enemies be made his footstool. [14] For by one offering he hath perfected FOR EVER them that are sanctified.
[15] [Whereof] the Holy Ghost also is a witness to us: for after that
he had said before, [16] This [is] the covenant that I will make with
them after those days, saith the Lord, I will put my laws into their
hearts, and in their minds will I write them; [17] And their sins and iniquities will I remember no more.
[18] Now where remission of these [is, there is] no more offering for
sin. [19] Having therefore, brethren, boldness to enter into the
holiest by the blood of Jesus, [20] By a new and living way, which he
hath consecrated for us, through the veil, that is to say, his flesh;
[21] And [having] an high priest over the house of God; [22] Let us
draw near with a true heart in full assurance of faith, having our
hearts sprinkled from an evil conscience, and our bodies washed with
pure water." - Hbr 10:1-22 KJV
