"Myra re Baptism"
Hi John and Doves,
Dear Myra - your post:- http://www.fivedoves.com/letters/apr2011/jack41.htm
Short but so very sweet. I struggle to understand why so many get their
knickers in a knot over physical 'traditions'. As believers, we KNOW
when the Holy Spirit is truly guiding, loving and protecting us. Words
cannot describe it. It happens over time. I was baptized in a swimming
pool and I was not a happy bunny. I cried for hours. That was over 12
years ago. The physical baptism, in water, is certainly not what
brought me close to our LORD. I had a wonderful Pastor, from America,
who was one of the wisest men I know. He taught me the depth of the
parable of the farmer who sowed the seed - did all the right things -
but it is the LORD who makes that seed grow. This Pastor helped me see
how we simply cannot judge other people - no matter what. Only the LORD
knows what is in each individuals heart - how dare we presume to know
anything about another person's heart? Or their personal relationship
with the LORD? Woe betide us if we dare to try and judge others of the
faith.
Have a wonderful weekend.
YSIC
