"Cahn says Hitler’s enormous Nuremberg rally platform was modeled after the Pergamon Altar. From that platform, Hitler addressed massive crowds as Nazi Germany moved toward war and the systematic murder of millions of Jews."

“The platform on which Adolf Hitler stood was a recreation of the Altar of Pergamon,” Cahn said.

"Cahn also traces what he sees as connections between the altar and the rise of Marxism, communism and the Soviet Union. After World War II, Soviet forces discovered the altar, which had been hidden in a Berlin bunker, and transported it to Russia. Cahn points to the Soviet Union’s subsequent rise as a superpower and the spread of communism across Eastern Europe and China."
