The title of this post is part of a deeply meaningful statement: On Yom Teruah It Is Written. On Yom Kippur It Is Sealed. Sealed means closure, a finality of divine assessment and judgment. Then aftermath can come. All adults, Jews and Gentiles, are judged on Yom Teruah. Names are written into 3 books: The Book of the Righteous, The Book of the Indeterminate, and the Book of the Wicked. Are these final judgments? No, they are preliminary and can be changed. Only on Yom Kippur are the names SEALED. There are 2 days annually of divine judgments which are 10 days apart. Yom Teruah (Yom ha Din - Days of Judgment) is Judgment Day 1. Yom Kippur is Judgment Day 2. Isaiah 26: 2 notes that on Yom Kippur all the adults on earth are judged. (Not Jew or Gentile, both are judged). He also notes that Heaven's Gates are open on Yom Kippur for all the righteous to enter. Does this imply that Resurrection of the righteous will occur on Yom Kippur some year?
Those not accounted worthy to be written in the Book of the Righteous on Yom Teruah are given a short time to repent, during the Days of Awe. The Days of Awe are the last 10 days of 40 days to repent, change, and be written to be SEALED in the most important of the 3 books of the judged every year. Daniel 12:10 states "Many shall be purified, made white, and refined, but the wicked shall do wickedly." Doesn't the Book of the Righteous sound very like The Lamb's Book of Life? Names can be written in this book any day of the year. Daniel 12: 1-2 states "And at that time, your people shall be delivered, everyone who is written in the book." Delivered from what? The Hour of Trial?
Consider the loveliness of the liturgy as Yom Kippur approaches completion at sunsets. "The Closing of the Gates." Some believe that the OPEN GATES OF HEAVEN close on Yom Kippur. The annual assessment and judgment rendered on Yom Teruah becomes COMPLETE only on Yom Kippur. There is the divine offer of Amazing Grace to those in intensive soul searching and repentance during an annual Great SPIRITUAL CONTINUITY within these 10 Days of Awe. Yes, these are bookend days of 1 and 10, Appointment Times Days 5 and 6. But there is DUAL FULFILMENT on Yom Kippur. Appointed Time 6 fulfills 5 and 6. In this, is beautiful mystery. On Yom Kippur the names of the adults in the land of the living are found in only 2 books not the 3. No indeterminates. The book of the Righteous (The Lamb's Book of Life) or the Book of the Wicked. No exceptions, no exclusions, no hold outs. This Day 2 Judgment Day annually is all inclusive. Yom Kippur is a combination of Feast 5 and 6. It is 2 in 1. Yom Teruah is a Foundational Day of Announcements, Proclamations, and Previews.
Do you want to AFFIRM YOUR NAME in The Lamb's Book of Life this Yom Kippur? And each day? You can. Yom Kippur, according to the Torah Calendar will be 10-2 to 3. Those far back on the 24 hour grid will experience it on 10-3 to 4. Yom Kippur Watch Period is 10-2 to 4. Blessed Sealing on Yom Kippur. Then, will Heaven await the Redeemed?
