Marcelo,That was a very interesting, and thought out, study on tribulation and wrath!
(The radio show that used to be called Politics And Religion, now called The Endtime Show, talked a lot about a distinction between the wrath of God and the wrath of Satan. They talked about the trumpets being the wrath of Satan, but the vials being the wrath of God.That distinction, taught that way, could lead to some strange questions, like:Does Satan's wrath catch the LORD off guard? Will the LORD then have to go to a plan B, involving his wrath? That distinction, as presented, did lead to a little confusion. However, I since realized that it may not always be that complete of a distinction.e.g. when Satan wanted to prove something about Job, to the LORD, it was the LORD that gave Satan permission to go against Job:)
Job 1:11 But put forth thine hand now, and touch all that he hath, and he will curse thee to thy face.
12 And the LORD said unto Satan, Behold, all that he hath is in thy power; only upon himself put not forth thine hand. So Satan went forth from the presence of the LORD.
(All Job's flocks, herds, camels, servants, and even his children were taken from him - his children were killed. But Satan still wanted to prove something about Job, and the LORD further allowed Satan to physically afflict Job:)
Job 2:4 And Satan answered the LORD, and said, Skin for skin, yea, all that a man hath will he give for his life.
5 But put forth thine hand now, and touch his bone and his flesh, and he will curse thee to thy face.
6 And the LORD said unto Satan, Behold, he is in thine hand; but save his life.
7 So went Satan forth from the presence of the LORD, and smote Job with sore boils from the sole of his foot unto his crown.
(Also, when the LORD wanted Ahab to go up and fall at Ramothgilead, he allowed a spirit to be a lying spirit in the mouth of Ahab' false prophets.Yet, in explaining it further, it goes on to say, "the LORD hath put a lying spirit in the mouth of all these thy prophets":)
I Kings 22:20 And the LORD said, Who shall persuade Ahab, that he may go up and fall at Ramothgilead? And one said on this manner, and another said on that manner.
21 And there came forth a spirit, and stood before the LORD, and said, I will persuade him.
22 And the LORD said unto him, Wherewith? And he said, I will go forth, and I will be a lying spirit in the mouth of all his prophets. And he said, Thou shalt persuade him, and prevail also: go forth, and do so.
23 Now therefore, behold, the LORD hath put a lying spirit in the mouth of all these thy prophets, and the LORD hath spoken evil concerning thee.
(Later, when the son of perdition shows up, it says that his coming is after the working of Satan:)
II Thessalonians 2:9 Even him, whose coming is after the working of Satan with all power and signs and lying wonders,
(But then it goes on to explain what happens to the people at that time, that it is God who sends them strong delusion:)
II Thessalonians 2:10 And with all deceivableness of unrighteousness in them that perish; because they received not the love of the truth, that they might be saved.
11 And for this cause God shall send them strong delusion, that they should believe a lie:
12 That they all might be damned who believed not the truth, but had pleasure in unrighteousness.
(In First Chronicles, it clearly shows that it was Satan that provoked David to number the people:)
I Chronicles 21:1 And Satan stood up against Israel, and provoked David to number Israel.
(Yet, the description in Second Samuel shows that it was LORD, who ultimately is the one, that moved David to number the people.)
II Samuel 24:1 And again the anger of the LORD was kindled against Israel, and he moved David against them to say, Go, number Israel and Judah.
(The LORD repeatedly used the devil in these cases. And I have now begun to wonder if maybe even the wrath of Satan, shown in parts of the book of Revelation, is still ultimately working out the wrath of God, anyway.)
