"Doctrines that walk like a duck, have duck feathers ..."

And waddle alongside ducks- but, insist they are not ducks. Yes,
lots of them out there.
I very recently started reading a book by a famous theologian
recommended by my pastor.
The first paragraph said: "Christian theology teaches the doctrine
of ________ grace, which briefly stated, means this: "that before a
man can seek God, God must first have sought the man."
Which to my mind, is the TULIP of Calvinism. However, the author
(inho) strains at a gnat and swallows a camel not to say so! After
reading the first chapter I put the book down and briefly talked to my
pastor this Sunday. He insisted that NO it was not Calvinism. But
imho, it does have duck feathers!
Anyway, I am not reading it further. I have more important things
to do than fuss my brain; or what little of it that is still left :)>.
