We've got yet another warning from the FBI Director Wray - "The Chinese government is running another broad campaign to hack as many American organizations as possible - heightening the threat across critical infrastructure."

 

"A China-backed-hacking team, infected home routers, firewalls, storage devices and Internet of Things devices like cameras and video recorders."

 

Half of the hijacked devices were located in the U.S.  U.S. and Taiwanese organizations in the military, government, higher education, telecommunications, defense and IT sectors were targeted.

 

"The threat of China lurking inside U.S. and other global networks is now existential for American companies and government agencies."

 

The worry is that these hijackings will "cause societal panic and trade disruptions during a potential Taiwan invasion."

 

"Wray warned that the Flax Typhoon operation is just "one round in a much longer fight."

"China-backed spies are said to have torn down their own 260,000 device botnet after the FBI and its international pals went after them.  The botnet was controlled by the somewhat misnamed Integrity Technology Group, a Chinese business whose chairman has admitted that for years his company has collected intelligence and performed reconnaissance for Chinese government security agencies."

 

Wray said that his agents "took control over the botnet's command and control severs - after getting court authorization to do so.  The Chinese team launched a DDoS strike against the Americans to disrupt them, and then tried to switch to backup control systems from the botnet, but were thwarted again.  Then China gave up."

 

"We think the bad guys finally realized it was the FBI and our partners that they were up against, and with that realization, they essentially burned down their new infrastructure and abandoned their botnet." Wray said."

"How is China shaping Biden's cyber policy?  The main issue is that U.S. critical infrastructure - which ranges from major financial institutions to municipal water systems - just isn't ready to fend off basic cyber threats."

 

"China is showing a new willingness to target internet -connected devices like routers, VPNs and firewalls."

Why U.S. officials keep talking about China's hacking threats

 

Wray has been warning us for months about China in our infrastructure - now in our routers, PCs, servers, cameras, video recorders, firewalls, etc.

 

And he's been telling us he believes these Chinese hijackings will be used to cause panic in the public during the coming China invasion of Taiwan.

 

I've written for a long time now - China's real target is the U.S. - and not Taiwan.  Because they've told us so.

 

I can see China 'doing something' to our elections IF they believe that their puppets Harris and Walz just might not 'win'.  They could shut down our electric grid, turn off our communications, etc.  And there goes the elections.
