"RE Gino 28th Aug:
"not good enough to go""
Hi Gino, always appreciating your precious letters. Regarding
the discussion about being "good enough" I suggest to more
concentrate on the real thing. We are called to pray for being
„found worthy“ not for being „good enough“ (Luk 21:36). In
contrast to „good“ any further qualification in measurement
doesn’t make much sense with worthy. Either you are found worthy
to escape or not. Worthier or less worthy makes no sense here.
Worthy enough? What would that mean? Either worthy or not. So is
„good enough“ a part of being worthy? What else or what instead
qualifies? Lot of room for further studies. Perhaps an original
(greek?) word by word study would bring some more light? Also
the letter of Steve C, „Partial Rapture and the Aischynō Option“
(28 Aug), is very interesting. Concerning the 10 virgins: Still
not so sure, if the assumption that they are guests and not the
bride (the marriage feast is AFTER the 7 day consumption of a
the marriage with bridegroom and bride ALONE (in jewish
customs)) is overstretched, but... Can the bride be the 10
virgins at the same time? There is some resistance about that
within me (this discussion is probably not new on five doves).
Blessings to all doves!
