And why is that important???? you asked? Well, the new moon per the OT starts the beginning of the Hebrew New Year. Supposedly, Rosh Hashanah was to be on 9/6 of this year. Me thinks since not see it, ( the new moon, tiny sliver of the moon) possibly it is today. Hmm. The Rabbis taught us to blow the Shofar to sound off the New Year once the New Moon was sighted. So...what' cha all think???
