La
Palma Volcano Now On The Verge of Eruption!

Yes,
the Watchman stays up late watching out for you!
It
has been about 4 hours since I last updated you on the La
Palma volcanic activity. Remember that I indicated that when
the quakes numbers increased, started coming in faster
(closer together in time), and the depths got shallower than
5 km, then an eruption was almost certain to occur. Since
that time, we have seen a significant increase in the number
of quakes occurring and about 33% of the quake depths are
now 5 km or less, including some that are so shallow they
cannot assign depths to them - meaning they are almost at
the surface.
Quake
depths are always measured from sea level which would be
equivalent to zero "0", but the reporting agencies do not
use zeros to report unless, as in this case, it is too close
to the surface to get an accurate measurement.
The
volcano stands about 1.2 miles above sea level. Any eruption
will likely come through one or more fissures (rather than a
cone shaped caldera).
Based
on this new information, I would say that an eruption now
appears to be imminent. It could happen within the next few
hours, or at the most a few days. The situation is rapidly
developing, as I predicted could be the case.
It
is currently 9:10 a.m. on the island La Palma, so people are
waking up for a new day - a day that may go down in history,
remembered for widespread death and devastation. Time will
tell!
