"Types and Shadows in Marriage of Isaac"

Hello Doves,

I read about Enoch, Isaac and Rebekkah's marriage by Clay in fivedoves last week and thought of writing about type and shadows present in marriage of Isaac and the parallel about Jesus and the Church from Genesis 24.

Abraham - Represents God, the Father.
Isaac - Jesus (The groom)
Eleazer - The Holy Spirit
Abraham sent Eleazer to distant location - Father sent Holy Spirit to earth
Bride from His people -  Prepare Bride from humans, His people
Not to take Isaac back to Mesopatomia - Jesus will not come for ministry yet again. He will come back to rule.
Rebecca had to be brought to Isaac - Rapture before Christ returns along with bride.
Ten Camels - Truth (Ten Commandments)
Water - Spirit & Truth (living waters from heart)
Taking Water and Giving Water - Receive Truth to ourselves and Give Truth to others
Very fair and Virgin - Noble and only focus in on Christ and not on the world
Golden Earring - Bride hearing truth
Two bracelets - OT and NT and bracelets representing hands for doing work of Christ
Preparing House and room for camels - Making room for Holy Spirit and serving people of God
Gold ornaments - Holiness and Faith
Silver ornaments - Word of God (Psalm 12:6)
Garments - Righteousness
Willingness of Rebekah to go after hearing about Abraham & Isaac - Those who want to leave the world after believing Father and the works of Christ and happily follow Him in the midst of all troubles of this world
Travelling back a long journey - Our journey through this world
Travelling with Eleazer - Living our life with the guidance of the Holy Spirit
Riding on camel - Living by His truth revealed from the Word
Meeting Isaac in the fields - Rapture and meeting Lord in the air during harvest time

Hope we also follow the model of Rebekah and become the bride of our Lord Jesus Christ. I haven't mentioned the scriptures for the shadows. But I think you can easily find them.

It is amazing how God fore planned and fabricated old testament History to reflect what is coming. Similar to the allegory of what Paul writes in Galatians 5 about Abraham, Sarah and Hagar. Hope this is useful and interesting and help to build the faith.

In Christ,
Issac.
