THE "FALLING AWAY" IS NOT WHAT YOU THINK IT IS......

 Before Jesus was crucified, He saw a prophetic vision of Satan "FALL FROM HEAVEN" when Satan is cast out of heaven , in the future, by the Archangel Michael just BEFORE THE RAPTURE according to :

Luke 10:18

"And He ( Jesus ) said unto them,  "I  beheld Satan as lightning  FALL FROM HEAVEN."

After Jesus was crucified, the Apostle Paul revealed the rapture of the Church when he said that the Day of Christ,  ie. the Day of the Rapture,  would not come unless "A FALLING AWAY" of Satan from heaven comes  "FIRST"  according to :

2 Thessalonians 2:3 ( first part )

"...for THAT DAY SHALL NOT COME except there come A FALLING AWAY FIRST," 

AFTER Satan falls away from heaven, to earth, the rapture of the Church can happen. When Satan is cast down to earth, and the Church is raptured to heaven, Satan reveals his anti-Christ according to :

2 Thessalonians 2:3 ( second part )

"and that MAN OF SIN  BE REVEALED, the son  of perdition." 

The Apostle Paul then states that it is the presence of Satan in heaven that is in the way of the rapture of the Church until he (Satan) is "taken out of the way" by being cast out of heaven according to :

2 Thessalonians 2:6-8

"And now you know what witholdth that he ( the anti-Christ ) might be revealed in his own time. For the mystery of iniquity does already work : only he (Satan ) who now withholds will withhold until  HE ( SATAN ) BE TAKEN OUT OF THE WAY. And then shall that Wicked One be revealed."

SO THERE YOU HAVE IT :

The RESTRAINER of the rapture IS SATAN who is now present in heaven until his "FALLING AWAY" from heaven occurs, " AS LIGHTNING FALLS FROM  HEAVEN",  and when he is cast down to the  earth that  is when  "HE IS TAKEN OUT OF THE WAY" so that then the rapture can occur. The confirming Scriptures are Revelation   12:7-12.
