In the link from JPost is an article about the Euphrates river and how it is drying up. I posted an article about this a couple of months ago but it seems that the urgency has now increased. The Euphrates is drying up rapidly.

The JPost article references a prophecy in Jeremiah regarding this. I would recommend looking at Revelation 16 (in the 2nd link). These things are pointing to a near fulfilment of prophecy. This also verifies (for me, at least) that the end-times prophecies are going to happen in quick succession. I lean toward the same opinion that Garry B has put forward - that opinion being that Israel will be attacked with millions dying - 144,000 are sealed. The Jewish people - (who are alive) are hidden and protected for 42 months. The dragon realises he cannot touch the Jewish remnant and, in his rage, goes after the rest of the world.

In Revelation 12 (3rd link below) the dragon goes after the rest of the world...people who hold to the testimony of Jesus. The dragon realises he cannot annihilate Israel so he goes forth to kill believers in Christ.
