Some of us may have been isolated from our family and friends, and people think that we are so strange, yet on that day – the same Lord who spoke, “Let there be light” and there was light, who spoke the creation into existence – that same Lord that we have been telling them about, that we have claimed to them that he is our Saviour – that same Lord, before all of them, all over the planet, will come for his own – and this time he will shout! If he did so much by speaking, what will be the effect of shouting for the whole world to hear?
Then if that was not enough, they next are gripped by the voice of the archangel – hey, if one angel could slay 185,000 Assyrians in one night, apparently they can be somewhat frightening to those not in Christ. Perhaps we’ll be more focused on the Lord’s shout than the archangel’s voice, but the others will be wondering about both.
Then the trump of God, which is the sound of the blast of the trumpet – if the sound of the trumpet was frightening at Sinai, what will it be for the trump truly heard round the world?
Then since the dead in Christ will rise first, we also, will get to witness the resurrection from the dead – we will see the bodies of all those who have died in Christ, resurrected before our very eyes – some have foolishly pondered, what about those who were eaten by wild beasts, or burnt and their ashes scattered – again, by speaking “Let us make man in our image”, he was able to cause trillions of dust particles to come together to form Adam – this time when he shouts – no matter what happened to the believers’ bodies, no matter how long ago, no matter how scattered – when he shouts – everyone of them will resurrect perfectly, with a body like unto his.
Then we change, unless we have passed through the veil first, with the others who have sweetly died in Christ, according I Corinthians 15:51-55, we change instantly and completely. Imagine the experience of changing from a mortal, corruptible, and now well aged body of this earth, to be changed in the twinkling of an eye into a body like unto his glorious, resurrected body – in that moment, all (all, all, all), the effects of Adam’s sinful nature will be gone forever – no more temptation – no more pride, lust, envy, and unforgiveness – no longer will our thoughts be subject to vanity.
