You had written:

At first that troubled me, but then I was looking at the scripture again:

Luke 5:39 No man also having drunk old wine straightway desireth new: for he saith, The old is better.

Jesus didn't claim that the old is better, but was quoting the expression, by first mentioning, "for he saith".

That is where I apparently wasn't correct, but you helped me to look at it again.
