Hello John and Doves,
Wanted to send a 'thank you' to Carl Worline for that very thorough and informative letter to Doves on 18 Aug 2019 "The Rapture on Rosh Hashanah". Appreciate your writing about the very many 'aspects' of Rosh Hashanah, covering much information in one letter - pointing to the Rapture! Bringing it all together for us. http://www.fivedoves.com/letters/aug2019/carlw818.htm
I remember JR Church of 'Prophecy in the News' publishing a little booklet dozens of years ago on the prophetic Seven Feast Days and in his section on Feast of Trumpets he wrote that that is the day he thinks the Rapture will occur. It was through JR Church that I first became familiar with these special days.
It was the apostle Paul that taught us about 'the Rapture' - and we know that he was very knowledgeable and highly trained in everything Jewish - he was born into a strictly religious Jewish family...and spent his early years in Jerusalem where the famous Rabbi Gamaliel trained him as a Pharisee..." Paul/Saul was very zealous "for the Law..." So we can assume he knew all about the 7 High Holy Days, of which Yom Teruah/Feast of Trumpets/Rosh Hashnah is one of the seven. He knew the customs, the laws, the ceremonies and traditions of each. http://www.ristosantala.com/rsla/Paul/paul05.html
It's just interesting to me, that such a learned scholar/theologian of Judaism would use 'at the last trump' (written about in 1 Corinthians 15:52 and 1 Thessalonians 4:15-19) to describe what happens at the Rapture. He had to have known what this meant. And being highly trained in Judaism, he knew about the trumpets of Yom Teruah/Feast of Trumpets.
Paul wrote to his disciples/congregations in Corinth and Thesselonica - these churches/synagogues included some Jews - who knew about the Jewish feasts - but were probably largely composed of Gentile converts - who would not have known about the Jewish feasts. Would the Jews in these congregations know that Paul was referring to 'the last trump' as the last trumpet/shofar blast on Feast of Trumpets? And, I assume, they'd explain what Paul meant to the Gentiles. We don't know if they knew or not, but I don't think Paul would have used confusing language that Jews didn't understand in his letters to them.
And when Jesus was asked when would a He, the groom, come for His bride, His response was that 'no one knows the day or hour...but only the Father'. This is actually a Jewish idiom - back in Jesus' time, if someone asked the groom when was his wedding day, the groom would reply with 'nobody knows but my father' - which meant to the Jews that he was getting married on Feast of Trumpets. This is a Jewish idiom explained in a book I have written by a Jew with a Jewish perspective of Jesus and the Gospels. (Much has been written about this Jewish idiom and others if you use 'google'**.)
Of all the feasts, Feast of Trumpets is the one with a lot of trumpet blowing!
The 'last trump' infers that there is more than ONE trumpet sound/blast - so 1) there are only two blasts, 2) there are several blasts that are not connected to a Feast Day, or 3) there is a whole series of blasts and one prominent final blast, as there is on the Feast of Trumpets.
So was Paul telling his congregations that the Rapture would take place on some Feast of Trumpets, knowing that at the last trump of a series of blasts that 'the dead shall be raised incorruptible, and we shall be changed'?
IF this is so, then we need to be especially watchful of this Feast Day. The torah calendar has Yom Teruah as 31 Aug 2019 sunset to 1 Sept 2019 sunset. (Jews actually celebrate this day as 48 hours/2 days long.) With the 'Days of Awe' starting on 1 Sept 2019 sunset and running to Yom Kippur/Day of Atonement 9 Sept 2019 sunset to 10 Sept 2019 sunset. https://torahcalendar.com/Calendar.asp?YM=Y2019M7
The chabad calendar is a month later: Yom Teruah as 29 Sept 2019 sunset to 1 October, 2019 sunset.
The moon will be 'new' on August 30, 2019 - visible 2% on August 31. So, if seen by witnesses in Jerusalem on August 31 that day will be declared Yom Teruah/Rosh Hashanah. If not visible - the next day will be declared. Keep this in mind while you watch.
This letter will probably be on 5Doves on 1 Sept, Sunday. Depending on the new moon sighting - right at the time of the Feast of Trumpets.
Hope we all fly away soon!
Pray for the peace of Jerusalem!
Maranatha!

**I found many other references to this Jewish idiom; here is one:
https://christianitybeliefs.org/end-times-deceptions/no-one-knows-the-day-and-hour-of-jesus-return/
“But of that day and hour no one knows, not even the angels of heaven, but My Father only.”
He was using a common Jewish expression which referred to a specific Feast of the Lord. In essence He was saying, “I am coming on the Feast of Trumpets!”
This idiom was used by a groom when asked when his wedding would be. So the groom after finding a woman to marry, would then arrive at his father’s estate, in which it could take up to two years to build.
Then it was his father that would tell him when his preparations on the bridal chamber were completed and it was time. They then would go and retrieve the bride around the fall, which is know as “The Time of Return.”
Every fall, the men from battle would return home with their King, as well as the farmers. This Jewish Idiom was said hundreds of years before Jesus used it, as it was a popular saying that meant,
“Prepare for a wedding feast and to be called out of the house to meet the groom.”
So this idiom is telling us that our Messiah will return for His bride on the Feast of Trumpets.
And here is another Jewish idiom concerning Feast of Trumpets as 'the day no one knows'.
The Feast of Trumpets was known by those in ancient Jerusalem as “The Day That No Man Knows.” And why was this feast nick-named by this Hebrew Idiom? It is because this is the only feast that is determined by the sighting of the new moon, therefore, “no man” can calculate the exact day nor the hour of when it begins.https://doubleportioninheritance.blogspot.com/2011/05/yom-teruah-day-that-no-man-knows_3315.html
