"The Interesting Month of Elul  (August 11 to September 9)"

Hello John and Doves,

The month of Elul is indeed a very interesting month.

During the month of Elul "It is customary to blow the shofar every morning (except on Shabbat) from Rosh Hodesh Elul (the first day of the month) until the day before Rosh Hashanah."  The last shofar will be blown on the 29th of Elul, September 9th.  "The blasts are meant to awaken one's spirits and inspire him to begin the soul searching which will prepare him for the High Holy Days."  Elul is a time to ask for forgiveness.
"Many Jews also visit the graves of loved ones throughout the month..."https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Elul

Check out the various letters to Doves recently on Elul.

Fay linked us to an article in her letter to Doves last week "Fascinating Prophetic Implications" http://www.fivedoves.com/letters/aug2018/fay826-5.htm

The Sanhedrin and the Mikdash Educations Center have organized the World Creation Concert to be held on September 3 - Elul 24.  "This falls one day before the 25th of the Hebrew month of Elul, the 5778th anniversary of the creation of the world according to Jewish tradition."    https://www.breakingisraelnews.com/112797/creation-concert-prayer-jerusalem/

Some very interesting dates are coming up in the month of Elul:  Elul 23 is 7 days before Tishri 1, Feast of Trumpets (possible 7 day warning).  Elul 24 is this concert "to bring all of the nations together to praise God".  Elul 25 is the anniversary of the creation of the world, Elul 29 is the day the last shofar is blown for the month.

"Technically, the Jewish calendar does not being until day six of creation (Rosh Hashana, Feast of Trumpets), which commemorates the birth of mankind."  This would be Tishri 1, September 9, sunset, to September 10, sunset.

But whether or not one of these interesting dates will bring the Rapture, the start of the Gog War, or the start of the Tribulation Period.....

Wait for the Lord!

"Popular Judaism regards Rosh Hashanah as the date of the Creation of the universe by God (Talmud:  Rosh Hashanah 27a), but the Midrash notes that it occurred six days earlier, on the 25th of Elul, when God created the Divine light by saying, "Let there be light" (Gen. 1:3).

The sages reasoned that since the gematria for the word yehi, "let there be", is 25, and man was created on Rosh Hashanah, the first work of creation actually began on Elul 25 of the Hebrew calendar."

It is customary during Elul to read Psalm 27 every day.  A prayer for divine help and guidance - trusting in His protection and declaring belief in Him!

1The Lord is my light and my salvation—

whom shall I fear?

The Lord is the stronghold of my life—

of whom shall I be afraid?

2When the wicked advance against me

to devoura me,

it is my enemies and my foes

who will stumble and fall.

3Though an army besiege me,

my heart will not fear;

though war break out against me,

even then I will be confident.

4One thing I ask from the Lord,

this only do I seek:

that I may dwell in the house of the Lord

all the days of my life,

to gaze on the beauty of the Lord

and to seek him in his temple.

5For in the day of trouble

he will keep me safe in his dwelling;

he will hide me in the shelter of his sacred tent

and set me high upon a rock.

6Then my head will be exalted

above the enemies who surround me;

at his sacred tent I will sacrifice with shouts of joy;

I will sing and make music to the Lord.

7Hear my voice when I call, Lord;

be merciful to me and answer me.

8My heart says of you, “Seek his face!”

Your face, Lord, I will seek.

9Do not hide your face from me,

do not turn your servant away in anger;

you have been my helper.

Do not reject me or forsake me,

God my Savior.

10Though my father and mother forsake me,

the Lord will receive me.

11Teach me your way, Lord;

lead me in a straight path

because of my oppressors.

12Do not turn me over to the desire of my foes,

for false witnesses rise up against me,

spouting malicious accusations.

13I remain confident of this:

I will see the goodness of the Lord

in the land of the living.

14Wait for the Lord;

be strong and take heart

and wait for the Lord.
