"Gino, what are you, some kind of bleeding heart liberal?"

Gino, what are you, some kind of bleeding heart liberal?
Why would you think it's all right for people to tear down Confederate statues?
It's actually nothing to do with the Confederacy, or liberalism, or conservatism.
It's like when the Assyrians took over a land, they got rid of the old gods to bring in the new gods.
They got rid of the old graven images and put up their own graven images in their place.
Too many people who are good with tearing down the Confederate graven images, would be fine with new ones in their place.
However:

Exodus 20:4 Thou shalt not make unto thee any graven image, or any likeness of any thing that is in heaven above, or that is in the earth beneath, or that is in the water under the earth:

I guess people could say that now that were under grace, and not under law, that the LORD feels differently about our graven images.
If they were an abomination to him before, why would they become un-abominable under grace?
All the years that I was Catholic, before I was saved, I had graven images, and prayed to graven images.
I used to have a little graven image of the queen of heaven (whom I thought was Mary) on the dashboard of my car.
I had a little graven image of Joseph, which my grandfather borrowed to temporarily bury, to help sell my parents house.
I also had a graven image of Jesus, and it was on a cross, at the very bottom end of my rosary.
The cross with the graven image of Jesus on it is called a crucifix, but for me it was my Nehushtan.

Numbers 21:9 And Moses made a serpent of brass, and put it upon a pole, and it came to pass, that if a serpent had bitten any man, when he beheld the serpent of brass, he lived.

II Kings 18:4 He removed the high places, and brake the images, and cut down the groves, and brake in pieces the brasen serpent that Moses had made: for unto those days the children of Israel did burn incense to it: and he called it Nehushtan.

After I got saved, I immediately got rid of all my Catholic graven images.
However, the folks at the church I started to got to were unable to understand I could possibly been so blind and foolish to have graven images.
They wanted to know how I could possibly think it was all right to have a graven image of Mary, or a graven image of Joseph?
Didn't I realize that the LORD considered those graven images abominations.
I said that they were right about that.
Then I asked them if I was to take the little graven images of Mary and Joseph, which we all greed were abominations,
and for a month I put them under an evergreen tree in my living room, in a little wooden stable, did they cease being abominations.
They were greatly offended at my asking that.
Then I asked them about how the heathen used to personify attributes to gods and goddesses, to which they made grave images.
e.g. war, wisdom, love, fortune, etc.
I asked them if they believed the two scriptures:

John 8:36 If the Son therefore shall make you free, ye shall be free indeed.

II Corinthians 3:17 Now the Lord is that Spirit: and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is liberty.

Then why should Christians have anything to do with a graven image of the goddess, lady liberty?
Then they were extremely offended.
