The Two Witnesses"
“John B (28 Aug 2016)
"The Two Witnesses......a "physically present" perspective"
Hi;
> > it appears to me that the two end time witnesses will
be Ezekiel and the > Apostle John
I think the Transfiguration and Revelation of Jesus Christ prove
that the two witnesses of Rev. 11 are Moses and Elijah.
In Mt. 17:11, Jesus plainly said, "Elias truly shall first come,
and restore all things." How can you get around that?
THE TRANSFIGURATION
Mat 17:1-11 says, "And after six days Jesus taketh Peter, James,
and John his brother, and bringeth them up into an high mountain
(i.e., representing Heaven) apart, 2 And was transfigured
before them: and HIS FACE DID SHINE AS THE SUN, AND HIS RAIMENT
WAS WHITE AS THE LIGHT. 3 And, behold, there appeared unto
them MOSES AND ELIAS (i.e., Elijah) talking with him. 4
Then answered Peter, and said unto Jesus, Lord, it is good for
us to be here: if thou wilt, let us make here three TABERNACLES;
one for thee, and one for Moses, and one for Elias. 5
While he yet spake, behold, a bright cloud overshadowed them:
and behold a voice out of the cloud, which said, This is my
beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased; hear ye him. 6 And
when the disciples heard it, they fell on their face, and were
sore afraid. 7 And Jesus came and touched them, and said,
ARISE, and be not afraid. 8 And when they had lifted up
their eyes, they saw no man, save Jesus only. 9 And as
they came down from the mountain, Jesus charged them, saying,
Tell the vision to no man, until the Son of man be risen again
from the dead. 10 And his disciples asked him, saying, Why
then say the scribes that Elias must first come? 11 And
Jesus answered and said unto them, Elias truly shall first come,
and restore all things."
Mar 9:1-8 says, "And he said unto them, Verily I say unto you,
That there be some of them that stand here, which shall not
taste of death, till they have seen the kingdom of God come with
power. 2 And after six days Jesus taketh with him Peter,
and James, and John, and leadeth them up into an high mountain
apart by themselves: and he was transfigured before them.
3 And HIS RAIMENT BECAME SHINING, EXCEEDING WHITE AS SNOW;
SO AS NO FULLER ON EARTH CAN WHITE THEM. 4 And there
appeared unto them ELIAS WITH MOSES: and they were talking with
Jesus. 5 And Peter answered and said to Jesus, Master, it
is good for us to be here: and let us make three tabernacles;
one for thee, and one for Moses, and one for Elias.6 For
he wist not what to say; for they were sore afraid. 7 And
there was a cloud that overshadowed them: and a voice came out
of the cloud, saying, This is my beloved Son: hear him. 8
And suddenly, when they had looked round about, they saw no man
any more, save Jesus only with themselves."
Luk 9:28-35 says, "And it came to pass about an eight days after
these sayings, he took Peter and John and James, and went up
into a mountain to pray. 29 And as he prayed, the fashion
of his countenance was altered, and HIS RAIMENT WAS WHITE AND
GLISTERING. 30 And, behold, there talked with him two men,
which were MOSES AND ELIAS: 31 Who appeared in glory, and
spake of his decease which he should accomplish at Jerusalem.
32 But Peter and they that were with him were heavy with
sleep: and when they were awake, they saw his glory, and the two
men that stood with him. 33 And it came to pass, as they
departed from him, Peter said unto Jesus, Master, it is good for
us to be here: and let us make three TABERNACLES; one for thee,
and one for MOSES, and one for ELIAS: not knowing what he said.
34 While he thus spake, there came a cloud, and
overshadowed them: and they feared as they entered into the
cloud. 35 And there came a voice out of the cloud, saying,
This is my beloved Son: hear him."
BOTH THE TRANSFIGURATION AND THE REVELATION OF JESUS CHRIST ARE
WRITTEN AS IF THE MID-TRIB RAPTURE IS AT HAND
In Rev 2:22, Jesus said to the church of Thyatira, "Behold, I
will cast her into a bed, and them that commit adultery with her
into GREAT TRIBULATION, except they repent of their deeds."
Rev 1:9-16 says, "I John, who also am your brother, and
companion IN TRIBULATION, and in the kingdom and patience of
Jesus Christ, was in the isle that is called Patmos, for the
word of God, and for the testimony of Jesus Christ. 10 I
was (lit., became) in the Spirit (i.e., he was raptured) on the
Lord's day (i.e., the Day of Christ), and heard behind me a
great voice, as of a trumpet, 11 Saying, I am Alpha and
Omega, the first and the last: and, What thou seest, write in a
book, and send it unto the seven churches which are in Asia;
unto Ephesus, and unto Smyrna, and unto Pergamos, and unto
Thyatira, and unto Sardis, and unto Philadelphia, and unto
Laodicea. 12 And I turned to see the voice that spake with
me. And being turned, I saw seven golden candlesticks; 13
And in the midst of the seven candlesticks one like unto the Son
of man, clothed with a garment down to the foot, and girt about
the paps with a golden girdle. 14 His head and his hairs
were WHITE LIKE WOOL, AS WHITE AS SNOW; AND HIS EYES WERE AS A
FLAME OF FIRE; 15 AND HIS FEET LIKE UNTO FINE BRASS, as if
they burned in a furnace; and his voice as the sound of many
waters. 16 And he had in his right hand seven stars: and
out of his mouth went a sharp twoedged sword: and his
countenance was as the sun shineth in his strength."
Rev 10:11 says, "And he said unto me, Thou must prophesy AGAIN
before many peoples, and nations, and tongues, and kings."
THEREFORE, THE "RISE" IN REV. 11:1 IS THE MID-TRIB RAPTURE
Rev 11:1-4 says, "And there was given me a reed like unto a rod:
and the angel stood, saying, RISE, and measure the temple of
God, and the altar, and them that worship therein. 2 But
the court which is without the temple leave out, and measure it
not; for it is given unto the Gentiles: and the holy city shall
they tread under foot forty and two months. 3 And I will
give power unto my TWO WITNESSES, and they shall prophesy a
thousand two hundred and threescore days (i.e., during the Great
Tribulation), clothed in sackcloth. 4 These are the two
olive trees, and the two candlesticks standing before the God of
the earth."
THE TWO WITNESSES ARE MOSES AND ELIJAH
Zec 4:11-14 says, "Then answered I, and said unto him, What are
these two olive trees upon the right side of the candlestick and
upon the left side thereof? 12 And I answered again, and
said unto him, What be these two olive branches which through
the two golden pipes empty the golden oil out of themselves?
13 And he answered me and said, Knowest thou not what
these be? And I said, No, my lord. 14 Then said he, These
are the two anointed ones, that stand by the Lord of the whole
earth."
Moses and Elijah stood by Jesus at the Transfiguration.
