Eliane,
Thank you for your kind words concerning my study of the two end time witnesses and thank you for the link to Pastor Riley’s excellent study on the same topic.

After reading the post you suggested by Pastor Riley I thought that he did an excellent job of biblically “rooting out” who he believes may be the two witnesses. And he may be 100% correct in his assumption that it will be Elijah and John the apostle.
As you know I took a different approach, a “biblically present” approach, as to the identity of the two witnesses and came up with John the apostle and Ezekiel.
As I stated in my post I believe the two witnesses (whomever they are) to show up just after the great resurrection of the dead…. just prior to the rapture…..near or at the start of the seven year tribulation period (period of Jacob’s trouble).
As Pastor Riley stated in great detail the Lord promises us that Elijah will come back to minister to and work with the Jewish people prior to the “day of the Lord”. The question is…. does this make Elijah one of the two end time witnesses or a special envoy send by God to focus exclusively on the Jewish people.
Could there be three key figures on the world stage at that point? Elijah ministering to and fully committed to the Jews and John the apostle and Ezekiel as the two witnesses ministering to not only Israel but the whole world.
Obviously there will be hundreds and hundreds of millions of people resurrected just prior to the rapture which will include not only Christians but also as per scripture “the whole house of Jacob”. So could it be possible that Pastor Riley and I may both be right in that Elijah, John and Ezekiel all will be present during that timeframe? Seems credible to me…..time will tell.
Marilyn,
Thanks for the response……always a pleasure hearing from you.
From your post you stated….
“I think the Transfiguration and Revelation of Jesus Christ prove that the two witnesses of Rev. 11 are Moses and Elijah.”
Again you may be 100% correct but…… my belief on that selection mirrors what Pastor Riley stated in his excellent post on the two witnesses. He went into great detail why he believes (and I do as well) that the players during the Transfiguration were not a precursor to the identity of the two witnesses. Apples and oranges…
Without me going into great detail, I’ll just re-link Pastor Riley’s post below where at one point he discusses why the transfiguration players don’t / won’t both become the two end time witnesses.
