WHAT ABOUT TODAY'S "FUN" CHURCH ?

How "bad" is it really?  Those of you who have read my postings here on DOVES
will have correctly concluded that I am about as "Low-Room" fundamental as one
can be in our World today. (Just this side of being a "nut job")  Yet when I take a
REAL look at what's going on in these "churches" I do find that what MOST of us
feel about them is true    However,....Let's just consider a few things that might
not be so bad, ok ?   I am, first and foremost, an OPTIMIST !  ( I HAVE the H.S.
living within me - why wouldn't I be ?)  For the sake of argument, I am going to
give the HOLY SPIRIT....ALL and I mean A L L credit for being more WISE and
MERCIFUL than my poor ability to understand and to that end I suspect that there
HAS to be SOME GOOD happening in those "churches".  Now, now, I know that
most of us would walk (run) out of one of these churches in the first few minutes
if we were somehow in one to begin with.  And probably be correct to do so, but wait,
let's take a look at those folks that are in the pews smiling.  I ask myself, where
would they be right now if they weren't there?  Home in front of the TUBE ?  In
a bar?  Or somewhere where they wouldn't hear anything about GOD whatsoever?
Their "presence" indicates at least an "interest" in hearing something about GOD
does it not?  Even though we may/would (strongly) disagree with perhaps THE
message or manner, they KNOW they are in a place understood to be a HOUSE
of GOD.  And that's at least a "plus" right?  They are sitting in GOD's HOUSE !
Now as to WHAT'S being "said" there and HOW it's being said, is the ISSUE most
of us have a problem with, yes?  OK, here's where I think about the HOLY SPIRIT
and HIS INFINITE WISDOM....could there be even just ONE person who's journey
with the LORD begins in that pew, in that church, on that day, he/she went to,,,not even
knowing why?  The HOLY SPIRIT we KNOW and LOVE works that way, and YOU & I
KNOW IT ! !   We have ALL seen HIM do stuff like this all of our Spiritual lives, why
would we doubt HIS PURPOSES at this LATE DATE.  I think HE LED that soon to be
believer to THAT church, because he/she wouldn't have gone to another to start to
come to the LORD.  Yep, the H.S. knows what HE'S doing alright, seen it too many
times to doubt....BLESS HIS HOLY NAME !  So, yeah, you and I wouldn't go to one
of those "fun" churches, but let's allow for the possibility that the HOLY SPIRIT is at
work in places we think not, and succeeding, where "real" Churches might not be HIS
chosen venue for HIS PURPOSES for that ONE person HE is CALLING to HIMSELF.
Now THAT is "FUN" to contemplate....MARANATHA !    TH


To Brother Bob,  I thank you for your diligent and studied response to my questions
                            on the issues put forth on my post. I can and do appreciate the time
                            you took on my behalf (and hopefully others as well). I ascribe that
                             your Scriptural Interpretation is based on an actual lifetime of
                             study and experience rather than any number of degrees to qualify
                             you as an authority on Biblical text. What YOU say is what counts.

To Barry Amundsen,  Regarding your post on a "Partial Rapture" and the (im) possible
                                   loss of Salvation due to the REJECTION of the HOLY SPIRIT.
                                   IF ONCE you have HEARD HIS VOICE and received a "blast"
                                   of HIS AGAPE LOVE, you could NEVER, EVER, reject HIM !
                                    You would have to have gone INSANE or receive a severe blow
                                     to the head to deny HIM !  Know that whatever HIS YOKE, it is
                                     NOT BEYOND YOUR  ABILITY TO BEAR !  TH
