"Giants - Why the variation in size?"

Someone asked at http://www.fivedoves.com/letters/sep2014/th913-3.htm why there was so much variation in size recorded for the "Giants" of the "Golden Age".  I once went to Ron Wyatt's museum where I saw a handbone that was much larger than my hand.  I am over 6 foot, so it had to be someone 10 feet or more.  Anyway, he was of the opinion that they grew their entire life....that is for us, an adult will quit growing in height at about age 20-25.  But he believed they live to be several hundred years old and grew continually for several hundred years, just like a tree does.  So that could explain why some where 9 feet and some 36 feet.

It would seem that as generations passed, a few things changed.  Jewish tradition teaches that from the Nefilim descended the Anakim, mentioned in Num 13:33-34.  Later generations were called the Rafaeim (weak ones), largely because as they got older, "half their body became paralyzed while half remained vigorous" (Zohar III 160:b) and they would kill themselves by either eating a certain herb or drowning themselves.

Shalom,

Joe
