Something New

Praying is good......Reading and studying the Bible is good......Going to Church to hear someone talk about God/Jesus is good......Worship is good.

But there is something new (at least new for a few of us). Actually being with God!

Being with God....just as you would be with anyone else. Being with Him and having conversations with God. God is not far off; He is in you. It is very possible to talk with God and God dropping thoughts into your mind and even subjects to talk about.

Being with God (sometimes hours at a time) is great. You can openly share with God anything. There will times you pray, sing, or even worship, but being with Him involves a lot of talking with God and allowing Him to talk to you. He has revealed so much to us. We meet once or twice a week, just to hear what God has been telling each other. Most of the times it involves the very same thing.

Example:

One night before going to sleep, I asked God if there was anything He wanted to show me before I went to sleep. He spoke the word “potato”. Then He went on to talk about how you could look at a potato plant and yet never guess about the treasure below the ground (the potatoes). He said it was the same with people.....We look at them, never knowing the treasures within them.

The same week, my friend was coming home on a plane. Next to him sat a very large woman. The ride was 4 hours long, so he started talking with her. She had treasures within her. My friend would have never found out about these treasures if he did not talk with her and get to know her.

Same week...same subject.

We have found, you can be with God in open conversation while you are driving your car or even at work. We get some spare time.....we are with God.

Being with God.....you receive first hand. God to us! No middleman. When you hear a sermon, it might be second, third, or fourth hand info. Receiving directly from God makes it very easy to do what God is sharing.

Our relationship with God is personal and individual. When you got saved, you responded to the Holy Spirit by yourself....one day we will stand alone before God to give an answer. It is all an individual walk before the Lord.

Being with God many hours a week....blows away listening to someone talk about God for 45 minutes. I would rather be with Him than hear someone talk about Him.

(Same with fishing {or most anything else}.....actually fishing is a whole lot better than listening to someone talk about fishing.)
