I have just attended Hospice Volunteer training classes. Hospice is notified when the doctor determines the patient cannot live. A Terminal form is signed by the doctor or in other words (to me) the death certificate is signed before the patient dies. Formality! There are also Hospice houses where patients can go in their last days. In other words, that tells me, you're very much alive but can go to a 'death house' if determined by a doctor all has been done that can be done and the patient cannot live beyond a certain length of time.Questions came up and the leader said doctors are not punished if they are wrong. I couldn't keep quiet and said, here a patient is sent to the 'death house' (if you will) but then healed by God. Good news, leaves the 'death house.' Doctor was wrong!)I'm only passing this on since it reminds me a bit like FEMA (Federal Emergency Management Agency). What Hospice does is make patients as comfortable as possible by providing as they legally can. That does include their Bible and anything as prescribed by the doctor! I found myself sitting on the fence. Hospice House is good so long as one is not forced to go against their wishes in their 'last days'. Otherwise,FEMA???
