Dear Doves, I have bern hearing the phrase "nights in white satin" for several days. I woke up this morning with it on my mind. Something similar to this happened to me a couple of years ago, but the phrase was, " a whiter shade pf pale". I'm kind of blown away. I did a lot of research. Both are song titles, and both were written and recorded in 1967 ! I am old enough to remember them well. Whiter Shade of Pale was recorded by Procol Harem and became the most requested song in the history of the BBC. It is based on a 250 yr. old Bach melody and song called " Sleepers Awake ". Which comes from the story told by Jesus of the Ten Virgins ! Can you believe it was released just days before the Six Day War in June of 1967 !!!!! Now I am hearing Nights in White Satin. I did a Wiki search on the song, and found it was recorded October 8, 1967, just two days after Feast of Trumpets. That was the first Feast of Trumpets to be celebrated in the newly recaptured Jerusalem !!!!!! I looked up the words to Nights in White Satin.....Wow ! Nights in white satin, never reaching the end.......just what the truth is I can't say anymore...... Can't you just see the Bride, ..night after night....DRESSED IN WHITE SATIN !!! Waiting so patiently, so faithfully......yet with such longing and just a touch of anxt ! Please google Moody Blues Lyrics and read them for yourselves. Could this be it ? Trumpets is just hours away !!! Could this be THE TRUMPET ? One more thing. On the album version of this song, at the 6 minute mark, a poem was read. The title......can you believe it....."LATE LAMENT". "Breathe deep the gathering gloom, watch lights fade from every room. Bedsitter people LOOK BACK AND LAMENT....!!!! When I read these words, Doves, I was BLOWN AWAY !!!! Bedsitter People ??? zzzzzzzzzzz !!! Sleepers Awake !!!!!! Put these two songs together Doves.
