Mary Anna, It would be nice if it works out like that.
Sometimes, however, he may not answer the prayers as we would have him to, for example:
Matthew
26:39 And he went a little further, and fell on his face, and prayed,
saying, O my Father, if it be possible, let this cup pass from me:
nevertheless not as I will, but as thou wilt.
What if he delays answering the prayer, until it happens? If he does, then we still won't know for sure, until it happens.
However, if he really did show us, what would we do with that information?
If we knew, for example, that the blessed hope was to come first & we somehow found out the date, what would we do?
Wouldn't it then be best, for as many of us as possible, to stop doing everything else we are doing,
and then spend the last days doing everything to give out the gospel?
If we really knew the date, could we justify wasting such precious time, by ever watching tv again?
We would be so selfish & cruel, if we knew, and only witnessed in our spare time, i.e. like on the weekend.
If we knew when, why would we still be working a job taking up 40 to 60 hrs of the week,
since we would know when, we could do absolutely all we could until the last minute?
However, if we live each moment, now, like he is coming later this very day, then that would be different.
Alas, I know that I've not been. Maybe others on FiveDoves, really are, though, that would be wonderful.
