⁴² It was a night of watching by the Lord, to bring them out of the land of Egypt; so this same night is a night of watching kept to the Lord by all the people of Israel throughout their generations.

But know this, that if the householder had known in what part of the night the thief was coming, he would have watched and would not have let his house be broken into.

I tell you, in that night there will be two in one bed; one will be taken and the other left.

For you yourselves know well that the day of the Lord will come like a thief in the night.
