I really thought that Obama was going to defy Congress and the American people with an attack on Syria.  Then Iran would attack Israel using their proxy, Syria, and the rest of the Islamic Middle East would join in.  Israel would fight back by leveling Damascus with a nuclear bomb, fulfilling Isaiah 17.
 
Instead, Obama backed down leaving Israel all alone.  From what I am reading on the various prophecy web sites, Israel is really feeling abandoned.  Not only did the US forsake her, Britain and Canada did as well.  The only hope for Israel now is to turn to God.  Isn't that what the tribulation is all about??  Jesus said that He would not come back in His second coming until the Jews cry out "Blessed is He who comes in the name of the Lord."  To accomplish this, the Bible says that Israel will find herself totally abandoned in the world.  It really looks like that is exactly what happened today.  Prophecy fulfilled.
 
Isaiah 17 will still be destroyed and Damacus will still become a ruinous heap in a single night.  If Israel has to go it alone and the Islamic world attacks, Israel's only practical option might very well be a nuclear detonation over the heart of the problem, the place where Assad has his capital.  Damacus.
