The Final 7 Years

Jesus should return to the earth within the next decade because of the 6000 year plan of God, and Jesus’ return should take place during the Fall Feasts in Israel. There are THREE MAJOR things that the Bible teaches us to watch for that will lead us to know when Jesus is returning to the earth.

THE SUN AND MOON ARE DARKENED!!!

This first sign is so obvious and easy for us, and yet very few people studying prophecy have even caught it. It’s the BIGGEST clue that Jesus gave us, it’s right in front of our eyes, and yet, most people don’t seem to see it!

—Isaiah 13:9-13  9 See, the day of the LORD is coming —a cruel day, with wrath and fierce anger —  to make the land desolate and destroy the sinners within it.  10 The stars of heaven and their constellations will not show their light. The rising sun will be darkened and the moon will not give its light.  11 I will punish the world for its evil, the wicked for their sins. I will put an end to the arrogance of the haughty and will humble the pride of the ruthless. 12 I will make man scarcer than pure gold, more rare than the gold of Ophir. 13 Therefore I will make the heavens tremble; and the earth will shake from its place at the wrath of the LORD Almighty, in the day of his burning anger.

—Isaiah 24:23  23 The moon will be abashed, the sun ashamed; for the LORD Almighty will reign on Mount Zion and in Jerusalem, and before its elders, gloriously.

 

If we want to know when Jesus will return to the earth, first we must study the FEASTS and the 6000 year plan of God. Since we have already concluded that Jesus will return to earth during the Fall Feasts, and that we are living in the time period when we should expect His return according to the 6000 year plan of God, the next sign to point us to the exact time of His return is to look for the sun and moon to be darkened on the Jewish Feast days.

There are only TWO times this will happen within the next 25 years. There is a solar and lunar eclipse taking place during the Fall Feasts of Israel in 2015 and 2034!!! There is a solar eclipse on the Feast of Trumpets in 2015 and a lunar eclipse on the first day of the Feast of Tabernacles in 2015. In 2034, there is a solar eclipse the day before the Feast of Trumpets and a lunar eclipse on the first day of the Feast of Tabernacles. We can rule out the other years as being the end of the final 7 years, because there is NO solar or lunar eclipse taking place near the feast days during any other years! Jesus was very clear, that the one sign to watch for that would point us to His return to the earth is a solar and lunar eclipse, when the sun and the moon are darkened! WOW!

This narrows down our options for when Jesus will return to the earth. Our two options are 2015 and 2034. It is my opinion that 2034 will be past the 6000 years from Creation and that 2015 is the only option that would still be within the 6000 year time-frame.

It’s so clear from Scripture that this is the sign of His return and so few people seem to recognize this. Many people say that this could mean any number of things, that the smoke rising from a nuclear war will cause the sun and moon to be darkened, or something else. But I would contend that when the Bible talks about the sun and moon being darkened, it is talking about a solar and lunar eclipse and that when it mentions that the moon will turn to blood (see Joel 2:31 and Revelation 6:12), it is not stating that the moon actually turns to blood, rather it is referring to a total lunar eclipse, wherein the moon turns red and looks like blood. Joel and John are trying to give us a sign to watch for before the coming of Christ – a total lunar eclipse in which the moon turns blood red. 

It is extremely interesting to note that in 2104 and 2015, FOUR total lunar eclipses (blood moons) appear in a row. Normally you will have a total lunar eclipse and then the next lunar eclipse will be partial. Only a total eclipse creates a "blood moon". To have 4 total lunar eclipses in a row is extremely rare, but what is even more rare is that they all fall on Jewish Feasts (2 on the feast of Passover and 2 on the first day of the Feast of Tabernacles). It's quite significant that the last 2 times this has happened were right around the times when important events happened in Israel - 1949/50 (Israel was becoming a nation again) and 1967/68 (Israel recaptured Jerusalem) and these are the only 2 other times this has happened in the last 500 years, where all 4 total lunar eclipses were right on Jewish Feast days (all 12 total lunar eclipses of 1949/50, 1967/68, and 2014/15 take place on Passover or Feast of Tabernacles). "The sun will be turned to darkness and the moon to blood before the coming of the great and dreadful day of the LORD."  Joel 2:31. This is a HUGE sign from God pointing us once again to the fall of 2015 as the time of His return.

 

 YEAR OF JUBILEE!!!

Historically, at the Jubilee, all of the debts were canceled, all of the slaves were set free, and all of the land was returned to its rightful owner. This is a physical example of the spiritual truths that are fulfilled in Jesus Christ, and will be finished at His Second Coming. The debt of sin is canceled, the slaves of sin are set free, and the rulership of the earth will return to Jesus Christ and His Bride forever. 

The Jubilee starts on the Day of Atonement. For years, the Year of Jubilee has been associated with the return of Christ. But only now can we truly understand the Year of Jubilee.  A prophetic year is 360 days (see Revelation 11:2-3 for just one example of this). If we count off 49 prophetic years (Leviticus 25:8) of 360 days each from the date of June 7, 1967, the date that Israel recaptured Jerusalem, we reach the Day of Atonement, September 23, 2015. This is perhaps the most significant sign that Jesus will return in 2015.

He has sent me to bind up the brokenhearted, to proclaim freedom for the captives and release from darkness for the prisoners, to proclaim the year of the Lord's favor and the day of vengeance of our God, to comfort all who mourn…

Leviticus 25:8-55 (NIV) "'Count off seven sabbaths of years--seven times seven years--so that the seven sabbaths of years amount to a period of forty-nine years. Then have the trumpet sounded everywhere on the tenth day of the seventh month; on the Day of Atonement sound the trumpet throughout your land. Consecrate the fiftieth year and proclaim liberty throughout the land to all its inhabitants. It shall be a jubilee for you; each one of you is to return to his family property and each to his own clan. The fiftieth year shall be a jubilee for you; do not sow and do not reap what grows of itself or harvest the untended vines. For it is a jubilee and is to be holy for you; eat only what is taken directly from the fields. "'In this Year of Jubilee everyone is to return to his own property. 

The last time Israel was given back the land that rightfully belonged to her was on June 7, 1967, when Jerusalem was again given back to Israel. The Lord is telling us to count off 49 prophetic years of 360 days each from that moment to know when the next time Israel will be given back her land. And not just Israel, but all who believe in Christ. We will be given back the earth, all debt of sin canceled and forgiven, set free to rule and reign with Christ for 1000 years!

The fact that the counting off 49 prophetic years from June 7, 1967, brings you to EXACTLY September 23, 2015, the DAY OF ATONEMENT, is absolutely, beyond all doubt, the most amazing fulfillment of prophecy EVER. AND added to that is the solar and lunar eclipse on the Feast of Trumpets and Tabernacles the same year, this is enough evidence to prove beyond any reasonable doubt that God is pointing us to 2015 as the year that Jesus will return to the earth to rule and reign for 1000 years.

 

 
 CONFIRMING OF THE COVENANT 2520 DAYS BEFORE THE DAY OF ATONEMENT

The Scriptures give us an outline for what will take place in the beginning, in the middle and at the end of the final 7 years. The end of the 7 years must take place during the fall, to fulfill the 3 Jewish festivals that point to the Messiah’s return to earth to set up His Kingdom. So, what we need to ask is, what does the Bible teach is the start of the final 7 years?

The only thing that the Bible says is the start of this final 7-year period is found in Daniel 9: “He will confirm a covenant with many for one ‘seven’.” It does not mention who this person is or even what this covenant is about. It does mention that it will be “confirmed”, which in the original language it was written in means “to be strengthened.” The word  covenant is a promise. So what we need to be watching for as the start of the final 7-year period is not the “rapture”, rather we simply need to look for someone to confirm a covenant with many (or strengthen a promise made to many people).

 

An Exposition of Daniel 9:27 

“And he shall confirm the covenant with many for one week…”

There are two critical terms that we need to understand are conveyed to us in English by the translated words “confirm” and “covenant.” We’ll look at the original Hebrew words themselves for a deeper understanding of what was originally meant.

The very first Hebrew word in verse 27 is the Hebrew word “gabar.” It is pronounced as “gaw-bar.”

The primitive root term “gabar” carries a wide range of meaning particularly in the Hebrew Qal stem. “To bind. The primary power is that of binding anything broken. To bind anything. To make firm. This signification is applied to power and strength. i.e. to be or make strong and or to strengthen (what already exists). One could also state it as “binding” an agreement as in giving it strength or even the idea of reinforcing it or giving new strength to an already existing agreement.

What we can say about “gabar” in Daniel 9 and verse 27 is that “he” – meaning the Prince that shall come – shall compel or force, in an overbearing manner or through “arm-twisting” cause something to happen. Let’s look further now and determine what that “something” is all about.

The next Hebrew term we want to identify is the KJV word “covenant.” The Hebrew term is the word – bariyth. The Strong’s code number is #1285. It is a rather straight forward term meaning: “covenant,” “alliance,” “pledge,” “treaty,” “league,” “agreement,” "promise".

Many commentators “assume” these Hebrew terms indicate a “peace treaty.” Perhaps this is what Daniel is conveying, but then that may be a false assumption. Why? There is nothing expressly stated in the text involving “peace.” Commentators assume this to be the case. The Hebrew terms here in this verse are quite simple and open-ended just as I’ve noted.

Daniel’s wording in this verse strongly suggests that this “Prince that shall come,” will be someone who “arm twists” or compels an agreement. The agreement may be a “treaty,” or an alliance but it may also merely be a “pledge” or an “agreement” – perhaps an “agreement in principle”.  The original Hebrew text never states the agreement is with Israel. Yes, you read correctly.

The Hebrew text uses the word, “rab” – Strong’s Code # 7227 . This Hebrew word “rab” means: “much,” “many,” “abounding in,” “more numerous than,” “abundant” “enough”. The word itself is not accompanied by any indication of a particular nation or any organized group. Again, most commentators take the word to mean “many” or a large number of people and then assume it is a reference to Israel.  While this may well be the case, the text itself is not specific. This is a fact that is very important for prophecy watchers to keep in mind.

I have come to understand that many of the patented opinions of prophecy authors and commentators seem to have a habit of making specific assumptions about prophetic passages which are non-specific. This verse is but one prime example.  

In the Bible, a prophetic year is 360 days (time, times, and a half time is calculated as 1260 days or 360 days per year). If you study the Feast days of Israel and Daniel 9, you will see that the date we need to count back 7 years of 360 days each is from the Day of Atonement. Daniel 9:24: "Seventy weeks have been decreed for your people and your holy city, to finish the transgression, to make an end of sin, to make atonement for iniquity, to bring in everlasting righteousness, to seal up vision and prophecy and to anoint the most holy.”

If we count back 2520 days from September 23, 2015 (Day of Atonement), we reach October 29, 2008. This was the exact date that Mr. Obama aired his 30-minute infomercial to the world on nearly every TV channel, strengthening his campaign promises to many people, asking the American people to make him the next leader of the free world.

After a thorough Word study of Daniel 9:27, using Strong's Concordance, here is what happened on the day of Oct. 29, 2008, to fulfill that verse. For months, Obama had been setting forth his platform, his promises, his agreement, his pledge, his COVENANT, and the CHANGES he was going to make when he became President.  On Oct. 29, 2008, He chose to CONFIRM, or strengthen, or make stronger, or summarize his platform, his promises, HIS COVENANT, and his CHANGES.  He promised to not only make great CHANGES to the U.S., but also promised to CHANGE THE WORLD, thereby fulfilling other Scriptures at the same time. He did this in front of vast multitudes of people. Many millions watched him on TV, as he bought time on several major TV stations, and many millions more on news telecasts and broadcasts, and on the internet, have viewed this historic moment in history... the start of the final 7 prophetic years before the Second Coming of Christ to the earth!!!
