Dear Sister Deborah, Thank you for your two posts on Sept 1, the first a link to an article in Charisma magazine about how Billy Graham is calling for a fast to repent 40 days prior to the election (beginning Sept 28) and the second letter in which you stated in your opinion it mat be too little too late for America. http://www.fivedoves.com/letters/sept2012/deborah91.htm I disagree that it is too little, but am inclined to agree and believe it is too late. I greatly respect and honor Dr. Billy Graham and mean no disrespect in what I am about to say because he has been a faithful servant and his influence on the world for Christianity has been far greater than anything I have ever been able to accomplish for the Lord thus far. But here is why I sense it is too late, Dr. Graham as well as the mainstream church as a whole has failed to recognize the significance of the Biblical Feast days of YHVH. Instead of prophecy revolving around America and a 40 day fast and season of repentance revolving around an American election - we should be looking at Biblical seasons. Tradition teaches that the time to repent is in the months of Av and Elul prior to Rosh Hashanna or Yom Teruah the Day of Trumpets because tradition teaches that on this day, both the gates of heaven are opened as well as the books in heaven in which are recorded the living and the dead and the deeds of the righteous and wicked. Ten days later on Yom Kippur, (Sept 26 this year) both the gates of heaven and its books recording God's judgements for the year are closed. While Dr. Graham's fast is well intentioned, it may have been scheduled 2 days too late - it is my belief we will be gone by this time anyway. I feel I recognized the proper time to fast this year was 40 days prior to Rosh Hashanna and I called for a fast for 40 days in early August becuase of this. http://www.fivedoves.com/letters/aug2012/navi817.htm I say this again not to boast, since I do not write under my real name so no one knows who I really am anyway- my reward is not to be found among the praises of men, but will be revealed in heaven. And again I do not say this to disrespect Dr. Graham a man for whom I have great respect- I only say this to encourage the body - begin your fast in some way now! I have remained faithful and am now 26 days with no solid food - the devil has attacked me and my church over the past week becuase of it! And I will remain faithful in my fast for the next 2 weeks - only 2 weeks left to Rosh Hashanna! Pray, Fast however you can! If you cannot give up food, give up sweets or snacks or tv or something, anything to crucify your flesh and feed your spirit! Make yourself ready in whatever way you can - not to seek repentance for the USA, although it is noble to ask, but seek first repentance in yourself for anything that would seperate you from being ready to meet the King! If the King does not arrive on Rosh Hashanna this year - I will also fast with Dr. Graham in some way to ask for repentance for my country, but I think by then it will be too late! Ask yourself, what if it is in 2 mere weeks? Are you ready? Don't wait until Sept 28th to fast, pray and repent - it is not too little, but by then it may be too late! Baruch HaBa BShem YHVH!
