Last evening I watched the television programs that brought us reminders of the 9/11 tragedy.  Then there was breaking news that told us our embassy in Lybia had been attacked. 

 

After I finally got to bed, I had a dream in which I was in a home belonging to a man I consider a real American Patriot. He is also a believer and an outspoken conservative.  His wife was also there.

 

As we talked, I observed that there were several small worm-like insects crawling about and emerging from their cocoons.  But they were also growing fast and becoming not worms, but into COBRAS!  It was a very frightening thing to see, and many, many people all around the cities were being bitten by them and dying.

 

I wondered why the man and his wife could live in that kind of environment, so I asked him.  His reply was ”’We’ve been bitten many times, but now we are immune.”  He was referring to their being born-again.

 

I spent a lot of time with the Lord about this dream.  My impressions were that these cobras are like the “fiery serpents” which attacked the people of Israel in Moses’ time. We read about that in the book of Numbers, chapter 21. 

“..they journeyed from mount Hor by the way of the Red sea, to compass the land of Edom:

and the soul of the people was much discouraged because of the way.  And the people spake against God, and against Moses.”  And the Lord sent fiery serpents among the people, and they bit the people; and much people of Israel died.  Therefore the people came to Moses and said, We have sinned, for we have spoken against the LORD, that he take away the serpents from us.  And Moses

prayed for the people.”

God heard Moses’ prayer and showed him to make a fiery serpent of brass and set it on a pole: and it came to pass, that if a serpent had bitten any man, when he beheld the serpent of brass, he lived. (v9)

 

John 3:14 Jesus tell us: “Even as Moses lifted up the serpent in the wilderness, even so must the Son of man be lifted up. That whosoever believeth in Him should not perish, but have eternal life.”

 

The serpents in my dream are devils attacking because so many are speaking against GOD and against His servants. We have seen it on the political scene especially.  We are a discouraged people with economic hardships, a country in deep debt,losing our freedoms quickly as Islam’s demonic attacks increase worldwide.

 

God is reminding us that the only hope for any of us is to look to Jesus and lift up His name before others that they too will not perish in the things coming on this earth and obtain eternal life in the new heaven and earth to come.
