Doves, How blessed most of us are in comparison to these poor people and the children....oh the children. Their only hope is for Yeshua to come for them while they are still at the age of not being held accountable. Notice within this article that the Christian Churches ignore them. Come quickly Our Lord Yeshua. gThe Daily JotDaily reporting and analysis of current events from a biblical and prophetic perspective.~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~NOTE: In keeping with the original names, The Daily Jot uses YHVH as God and YeshuaMashiach for Jesus.Friday, September 21, 2012A Living Spring Church/Daily Jot missionary team has been in Ghana West Africa allWeek. Here is the first of our reports.Agbogbloshie--Sodom and GomorraIt stretches for over four miles on the banks of the Korle Lagoon. JournalistsSay that over 40,000 Ghanians live there. It is one of the filthiest places on earth. It is noted for its rampant crime, human trafficking, abject poverty and toxins. It is called Agbogbloshie, nicknamed Sodom and Gomorra of Ghana. The smell aloneIs enough to drive away anyone. It is a mixture of human waste, burning plastic,Trash, vegetables, meats and other foodstuffs, charcoal and fire. It is a dumpingPlace for outdated electronics--computers from Europe, the United States, UnitedKingdom and Japan. People of all ages start fires and burn away the plastic fromThe computers for whatever they can salvage and sell.It is a predominantly Muslim community. There are some Christians mixed in. TheyLive in somewhat harmony, bonded together by the mere need to survive each day.The Arab Bank for Economic Development in Africa, Kuwait Fund for Arab EconomicDevelopment, and OPEC Fund for International Development have pumped thousandsOf dollars into this "dump" to dredge the lagoon, restore its surroundings, andMove the people away. But it keeps growing in filth and in population--no sign ofThe money unless it is the building of small mosques throughout the area. The governmentHas even offered the people land to live on in an attempt to move them out. TheyWill not budge. Then there are the children. They have no or little education. They have no cleanClothes. They are the workers in the lagoon holding the sticks of computer cordsTo the fire that burns away the plastic coating. They are the ones who are breathingIn the toxic fumes that have been proven to cause brain damage and other healthProblems. They are also the ones nobody seems to care about. All over Accra, theCapital city of Ghana, are large billboards promoting this preacher or that apostleOr this prophet. The signs are calling people to healing services, to prophecy conferences,To self improvement meetings. The featured speakers wear nice clothes, fancy watchesAnd have that "far away" holy look about them. One of the billboards is near a side entrance to Agbogbloshie. It says "Have theGood Life." The people passing by seem to miss the irony. These are the peopleWho are unclean. They are untouchable. The authorities want to move them away inOrder to clean up the dump and get rid of the crime and disease. The ChristianChurches ignore them. The Muslim leadership uses them. The power of the gospel isHardly found. And if it is, it is solely by the grace of YHVH because not many humansWould dare care. Somehow, in walking through this slum, I keep hearing the lastPart of Matthew 25:45 ringing in my ears: "Verily I say unto you, Since you didIt not to one of the least of these, you did it not to me."Have a Blessed and Powerful Day!Bill Wilson
