"One Generation"

This Generation ----Matthew 24 Short version

Picture yourself being one of the Lord’s disciples and He tells them the Temple of God will be completely destroyed. They were so unsettled they came to the Lord in groups to confirm the message in Matthew 24, Mark 13, and Luke 21. Oh how have we failed to grasp the timing of the events Jesus described which was far into the future. Only One generation was to see all the events described; The Temple destruction, beginning of the birth pains or sufferings, the abomination of desolation, and the return of Christ after the Tribulation.

34 Truly I tell you, this generation will certainly not pass away until all these things have happened.

The generation alive when the events start will be same generation who see the return of Christ. The picture presented by Christ is of one standing in Jerusalem.

The beginning of the birth pains or sufferings are the events taking place in the Seal Judgements in Revelations 6. Wars and rumors of war, earthquakes, famines, pestilence, signs in the heavens, persecution, false christs and prophets, and great distress upon the earth. Everything can be found in Mat 24, Mark 13, and Luke 21.

Next event in this generation is the abomination of desolation as spoken by the prophet Daniel.

21 For then there will be great distress, unequaled from the beginning of the world until now—and never to be equaled again.
With sadness I tell you the temple of God will be built at the direction and covenant of the antichrist during these early years of the 7 year tribulation and in the middle of the seven he will take his seat in the temple of God after the leaders of Israel beg him to be their king. Up to this point they are completely deceived.

He will build the temple in Jerusalem, and will restore it again speedily, and give it over to the jews. Hippoyltus

Next event for this generation is the return of Christ on the Mt. of Olives. Scriptures say they will mourn as one who has lost their first born son when they see the Lord. Where is the joy?, Where is the gladness? The price is eternal. The creation story begins in a garden, Jesus was arrested in a garden and crucified in same place He was arrested, and his return will be also here on the Mt of Olives. History repeating itself!
