"Interactive RH new moon website"

Hello again from Texas!

The link below is to an interactive graphic that illustrates sighting of Monday night's new moon from the perspective of the Western Wall in Jerusalem.  The new moon is below this horizon on September 16th, but will be visible on Monday, September 17th just after the 6:42pm IDT sunset (10:42am CT) with optimal viewing around 7:00pm IDT (11:00am CT on Monday).

Note that, weather allowing, this new moon will actually be sighted on Tuesday in Jerusalem (h/t Randy), since the Jewish days start at sunset, not midnight IDT.

Also, I also recently learned that Tuesdays are the preferred day for a Jewish wedding!

Finally, here's a website that provides real-time live streaming from multiple cameras at the Western Wall in Jerusalem.  I don't know of they will blow the Rosh Hashanah shofar from this location, but I'll be watching these cameras with great interest over the next 24 hours!

Hoping to see and meet you all soon!
